        Even LTK don't know :rotflmao:
Ya boy. Not coming out to settle the rumor is one thing (or telling the truth, whichever your stand is), but not responding to your country is another. Will that make him a criminal if he doesn't respond? Sort of like running away from NS?

He simply give up his rights to appeal if he doesn't respond to Parliament Clerk by 24 Feb. - no criminal offence.

A NS deserter is a chargeable offence, including jail time.

Maybe he just needs some time away fr public scrutiny to weigh his options.
I wld give him d leeway to do dat n not pass judgement too soon.

OIC. Thanks for your clarification, and a good reminder not to pass judgement too soon!

Isn't referring to you but if serious topics sometimes serious sometimes not serious, not serious topics sometimes not serious sometimes serious, then it is difficult for people to take you seriously because don't know when you are serious and when you are not.
Actually, I also meant that voting in a pretty face could also be jokingly in nature.. not meh?

who would really vote in a pretty face over a capable person.... rite..? If someone would suggest it.. I would not regard it as \"serious\" views.. and certainty does not justify a debate response.. mebbe some jokingly response..

but anyway.. if I didn't put it across correctly.. sorry for the mis-understanding..

I try to make more use of the emo-icons.... or maybe put [jk]..

                Vote PAP:
On top of this, your stand is that we shd not demand YSL to come clean... Why not...? Are we so afraid of hearing the truth...? You did also bring up the point abt sordid details wld be brought up. Let's make one issue clear, once & for all; no sordid details required. Am only interested to know if the allegations leveled at YSL have any merit, or it's just an elaborate attempt to destroy YSL. Let ur yes be a yes & ur no be a no...! Till this very moment, YSL had not commented on these allegations. Mdm Koh, please empathize & sympathize where empathy & sympathy are deserved; the respective family of women he had EMAs with. We must all be clear abt this, or we'll fall into the same sad situation again...

Vote PAP, this is a long post, so do bear with me and read it in its entirety.

I sympathise and empathise with the women's families. In fact, one of my good friends knows Angela Oon personally. After the news broke, she was tailed relentlessly by reporters and could not even meet her friends for a simple meal, for fear of implicating them. Things will only get worse for the women if YSL speaks up. That is why I do not think that he should address the allegations publicly.

As for my remarks on YSL, let me put the record straight. I am very sure he is guilty to some extent. Whether the reports have been exaggerated, I do not know. I was from the media and I know how some writers can use certain words to \"spice up\" an article. But it is obvious to everyone that the basic facts in the allegations are true. Hence, I feel that whether he addresses them publicly no longer matters.

Although I would like to maintain a non-partisan view on this, I am quite disdainful of people who use this incident to score points for the PAP. As the news on YSL and the CPIB officers broke at around the same time, as a Singaporean, I find it strange that we are calling for a man who had an extra-marital affair to come clean, but not calling corrupted officials to come clean. You may argue that an extra-marital affair of an MP would directly affect his work. That is fair enough. However, when put side by side with a massive corruption case, which do you think is more important and needs more attention?

Your aim in posting is to gain brownie points for the PAP by further discrediting YSL. My aim in posting here is to call for the authorities to get their priorities right and stop harping on YSL. The authorities need to come clean on the corruption cases, so as to restore the public's confidence in them. I do not agree with Minister Khaw's calling for YSL to come clean at a time when the credibility of a crucial government agency is in peril.

I am surprised that some Singaporeans take such a light view of corruption. Did it ever occur to anyone that if the CPIB, or Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau, is itself corrupt and its leaders are so easily bought over by sex and money, this could mean that many more individuals may have gotten away with corruption over the years by bribing their way out? The implications for the case are huge.

I believe everyone saw the massive turn-out at WP rallies last year. It’s not a passing fad. It’s real.

Many in the younger generation are no longer supportive of the PAP’s actions. Although I do not live in a ward contested by the WP, I attended the rallies with my friends.

Instead of trying to discredit the opposition, passionate PAP supporters like yourself, Vote PAP, will do better by calling for the PAP to clean up its own image.

The old method, trying to gain support for the PAP by putting the opposition down, is not going to work anymore. Many voters attended the rallies. We can judge for ourselves who the credible ones are.

                        Oxymoron.

I don't think your view is non-partisan at all.

The corruption case is off the headlines precisely because it was dealt with openly and decisively. The men have lost their jobs, even if the extent of the wrongdoing is yet to surface. It may turn out to be that there is not really a lot to answer for, apart from a gross misdemeanour.

YSL has done the polar opposite, which is why he is still in the headlines.

That's why I said \"I would like to\". πŸ˜‰ It's not easy to be non-partisan. I can only try to be as neutral as possible. As I have stated in a previous post, I personally dislike YSL.
