May we know which part of Spore you live in? Might be easier to make some recommendations in terms of location/ proximity to your home.

If you are staying in the East, I guess you can consider the following schools (Express, non-affliated):

St Anthony’s Canossian Sec : 227 - 258 (Strong in performing arts and offer a holistic education. Does not focus on academic alone.)

        CHIJ (Katong Convent): 228 - 241

        Tanjong Katong Girls: 235 - 271

        Cheers

I think you can consider PLMGS(S)? I’m not too sure of their updated COP though.

St.Margaret entry point is around 240 for non affiliation. I am a strong support for same sex school for secondary level after hearing all the BGR headaches and distraction. Nowadays teens are not the same like our time - they are very \"advance\" in their approach in BGR. In my time, only those havoc kids go into relationship but nowadays ..goodness it is so \"common\". I was just chatting with my colleague who has a \"kwai\" daughter in primary - now Sec 2 daughter hp's never stop ringing..apparently being pursued by classmates...Mom getting distressed!

Girls in girls' school can get more havoc than girls in co-ed schools. It's the home environment & values taught to them that matters.

You should ask your daughter if she wants your help in fending off those boys. My mum used to scold the boys that call my home or HP (I was from girls' school since P1!)

Hmmm, apparently, according to the school's website, the COP for 2008 was 197 - 261 for Express, affiliated. It indicated as \"none posted\" for non-affliated students.

From what I remember, there are girls there who were not from PL Pri. I know some of their scores were 220+ and they are in the 3rd Express class.

PLMGS is a good choice and I hv seen some of the girls around my neighbourhood. They seem to be quite "Kwai" and well behaved. Only worry is that your child might take a longer time to adapt as most of the girls are from the same pri sch and they might have certain cliques.

Nothing much to worry about the cliques as most of them will be 'seperated' due to different classes. & they have staggered recesses (not whole level go for recess at the same time).

As long as your girl is friendly, she'll have no problems.

I highly recommend PL because they are changing the P next year. The new P is a very dynamic woman with good leadership. She's very strict about discipline and attitude & will definitely bring the new to a higher level.

It also has a well rounded program, but you can expect your girl to reach home quite late with CCA, enrichments (every Wednesday), extra activities (events, etc). Their niche area is music, so if your girl has a grade 4 or 5 in piano, can try your luck to appeal if can't get in by results 🙂

Yes, heard that PLMGS is a good school. A friend sends her daughter there and I know the girl is happy there and doing well in school.

                        On a separate note...
Btw, does anyone have any idea how St Anthony's Canossian Sec Sch (SACSS) is like? The feedback I get is so far positive - as mentioned earlier - strong in performing arts and holistic education. That's the impression I get. Any other feedback/ comments?

A friend is thinking of sending her kid there and wanted to find out more. I think her daughter is SACPS or is it CCPS... can't quite remember. Any feedback, anyone?

                        Thanks.
