Hi, my dd in p6 this yr, aiming for Dunman high. However, I am worried as IP school is more suitable for independent student. I dun find her independent at all in terms of learning. Although her results are quite ok in her school but she always need me to nag at her to study. Moreover, when she is faced with too many homework, like now, she will look soooo stress. She is also not a very organised person. Distance is also not so near, will decide then. However, I do pray that her result will be good enough to get into a sap school.

Son wishes to go to Victoria.

              1. stay in the East
              2. like the tradition and culture
              3. like the emphasis on all-rounded development, esp sports CCA, like soccer

Me also wondering about this. My dd is in P4 this year. When I discuss this topic with her at the start of this year, she seemed totally clueless n bo chup  However, she said that her classmates were talking about which sec. school to go to since last year (P3). Most aiming for RGS, NYHS. These schools are not within my 'realistic radius' leh

:offtopic: Am I being unambitious? Should I be concerned?

How to brooch the subject with dd about aiming high while setting 'attainable n realistic' goal (which school to aim for) without compromising her self-esteem? I have my own baseline, too low also cannot lah πŸ˜„

P6 open house influence.... πŸ˜‰ Of course peers talk about it. But for a lot of kids it's parental influence.
Many years ago, practically every kiddo (lower pri) I met wants to go RI/RGS. So cute and innocent - at that age obviously influenced by parents.
I guess as they grow up, then they will realize only very few per pri school actually made it to the top sec schools.

My dd class started to talk about it in P4. Her friend and her aim is to go RGS or Dunman High. I told her to aim high is good, but must also be more realistic. πŸ˜› She is neither the Top 10 in her school cohort so going RGS or Dunman she must work double hard in P5 and P6.

Seeing the \"hard work\" she put, if she can go Nan Chiau, I am MORE than happy. Nan Chiau to her is more realistic.

                        1. New and nice building.
                        2. \"O\" Level backup
                        3. Importantly, heard that the people (from Principal to security guards) are really warm and nice! πŸ˜„
