1)Hi,
Need help on this 2 questions:-
1) Jill and Kim went shopping with the same amount of money. After Jill spent $600 and Kim spent $56, Kim had nine times as much money left as Jill. How much were they left with altogether?
2) When Ginny buys 3 kg mangoes, she will have $7 left. However, she will need $13 if she buys 5 kg of mangoes. How much money does she have?
Many thanks!
[][600]
[]...[][56]. 9units
So 8u=600-56=544
u=544/8=68
9u+1u=10*68
Ans=680 -
2)
[][][][7]
[][][][][]{13}. { -dotted lines in the model
2kg=$20
310+7=$37
Ans $37
Checking 510-13=$37 -

Last year, I just stared at the qns and answers, I think unconsciously I absorbed.
luckily, last year, my son no need to solve this type of qns. Now I can do some qns.it's time to give back to the KSP community!

Just curiously want to know relations to this number pattern
2,3,6,18,_,1944
And:108 -
smartmummy:
Solution:Just curiously want to know relations to this number pattern
2,3,6,18,_,1944
And:108
Notice that 2x3=6, 3x6=18, and so on. Hence the missing number is equal to 6x18=108. Just to be sure, we check: 18x108 is indeed equal to 1944. -

Just curiously want to know relations to this number pattern
2,3,6,18,_,1944
And:108
2*3=6
3*6=18
18*6 = 108
108*18 = 1944
So, answer is 108
Don't know am I right to analyze this way

Need help on the following questions:-
1) At a party, there were thrice as many adults as boys and twice as many boys as girls. There were 88 more adults than boys.
a) How many more adults than girls were there at the party?
b) How many people were there altogether at the party?
2) A file and a pen cost $13. If Peter bought 2 files and 4 pens for $44, find the cost of one pen.
3)Eugene had 80 more marbles than Sharon at first. After Sharon threw 12 marbles away, Eugene had thrice as many marbles as Sharon. How many marbles did Eugene have at first?
Include a clearly labelled model as part of your method.

P4 kids may use MD.
Girls ------ 1 unit
Boys ------ 2 units
Adults ----- 6 units
4 units ------ 88
1 unit ----- 22
6-1 ------ 5
5 units ------ 22*5 ------110 (more adults than girls)
Number of people -----9*22-----198
Best wishes
