3rd ATM machine compromised. That's why this new spate.

my belief is that DBS has the most number of machines. Easier to find one to 下手. That means we should put our money in, say maybank? They dont have that many ATMs for one.

What I can't understand is, why only DBS and not other bank? What have DBS gone wrong with their IT system?

They outsourced their IT -- thats where it went wrong...

DBS said is from the same syndicate using data as those cases of last month

DBS said those affected accounts if they have changed their password should not be affected

Have those people whose data was stolen but money not stolen last month, got new ATM card from DBS but did not change their password ? huo gai!

no point covering the keypad if the ATM has been compromised, eg when skimming device has been slotted into the card slot and you never knew it

Huh? This is ATM leh. Thought I saw that the scammers couple the skimmers with cameras or other stuff to capture the pin? Without which how are they going to know e pin?

the device skimmer slotted into the card slot is so thin so small that you don't notice it

it captures all your data on the magnetic strip and the key stroke of your pin number

                that's it[/quote]
To capture the PIN, they would ve to overlay the number pad w a fake number pad.

I don’t have any problem topping up my ez link cards using DBS ATM until these 2 weeks. It seems that transactions are blocked. Does anybody have the same problem? Thought it could be one of their new security measures in place.
