Im new to this forum. Edgefield is very near to where Im residing. My sister is a graduate of this school, and my mum is a non-acdemic teacher in the school. I’ve watched this school grow. I have known some of the teachers there too.

Firstly, this school does not have exams for Primary 1 and 2, correct me if I am wrong. And yes, they nuture the kids all round. They are very into CCA.

If any parents would like to have tutition for your kids, you may let me know as my mum does tutition all levels and her chargers are reasonable. Its home tutition at her house just 5 mIns walk from the school, and she is going on either 1-1 or at most 1-2 students.

I am new to this forum or any at all. My older son is already registered but on LOA as we are residing in Shanghai. He has never attended a day in Edgefield, so I have no idea what’s it like to study in Singapore. My younger son will register for P1 next year, so I’m wondering if I shoulld just let him go Edgefield or try other schools. We are staying 2 streets from the school, so it’s very convenient. Not that it matters now since we’re not in Singapore.


I’ve read some negative comments here but also some really good ones in the other forum (Registration). I guess every school, even the best, has it’s pros and cons. I’ve been in Beijing and Shanghai since 2006 and choosing a school is never easy. There’s no perrfect school for every child. As parents, we can only choose one that suits our child. Sorry to say this. I don’t believe that a child will definitely excel in the best schools. Of course, the chances are probably higher. So getting into the best schools is not my priority at the moment. However, I would still hope for my boys to get into an "okay" school where they can enjoy their childhood.

I was told that my boys could take entry tests at other schools when we return in the future. So, we are not so pressured to get into a good school now. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Anyway, I appreciate any feedback on Edgefield. So far, I’ve only made contact with the Admin when they process the LOA annually. I am very happy with their service.

from the record, PSLE achievers are lesser and lesser every year. The new principal focus more on Cha-cha dance instead of academic aspects. Under the previous principal, PSLE achievers are more. This is feedback from some of Parent’s Volunteers in this school.

I’m same as you. Thinking to register my daughter at Edgefield but not make up my mind. Could you pls share with me why you want to register yr son at this school? Did u consider the new school like Punggol View and Punggol green or even Mee Toh?
