Oh thanks Pen88 and Augmum.Pen88n:
If get down graded to O level class, but do very well in O levels, can rejoin the school in Y5?
Yes, Augmum has mentioned it is possible to join back Y5 in DHS.
I do not know what is the definition of \"good O Level\" results for joining Y5 in DHS, but I know another IP school which also has an \"O Level\" class accept the kids back in Y5 when their O Level score is 9 points or less (excl any deduction of HCL / CCA points).
At least the school is reasonable and allows second chances but I am not telling dd about this so that she would not \"slack\". :censored:
U're welcome.......

Perhaps so......we may not know the details abt this pupil.
No idea.. My friend had told me the story to remind me to watch son's progress closely.. According to her, the boy is a neighbour of her colleague.
Anyway, it could be that the boy only started to fare badly in year 3, or NJC believed that he could do better via 'O' level route.. but these are only my guess lor.
But usually how and when does NJC notify weaker pupils ?? what is the usual practice ? any1? -
hi
i heard that every year, there will be a no of dunman high students leaving after year 4 of their 6-yr IP to join vjcโฆis this true?
reason being that vjc is more โhappeningโ which tend to attract teenagers -
I can also say for Dunman High that number of students leaving for other JCs such as VJC after sec3 is reducing as the school stabilises.
There are quite a number but the number is also reducing. The number of the first batch IP graduaring was 100++, the second batch was 200++, the thrid batch was 362. You can see a clear trend that the number of students transfering out is reducing. -
It will be harder for them to transfer to vjc once the cedar IP n vs IP students reach year3. Actually why would they want to transfer to vjc?

heard this from a dunman high student....vjc is academic+fun while dunman is still more academic, not so 'happening', what teenagers would say...when you are 16, you are attracted by other things... -

If I am not wrong, DHS 1st 2 cohorts are not 100% IP and hence the much smaller numbers. The 3rd cohort should be 100% IP. There are still students leaving for each cohort but numbers are reducing as you have pointed out. -

DHS was granted full IP in late 2005, and it went full IP in 2006.

Yes, as what Weihan had pointed out, the numbers are indeed reducing.
And yes, i too heard of gal 's frens thinking of transferring out in yr 4,
as some parents feel that DHS is still relatively new in their A lvl programme, compared to VJ or TJ.
But last yr, the P did mention that its results was comparable to NJC, and it took shorter yrs to obtain that. -

he wanted to transfer too but in the end, he did not...
