i need to install cctv with video recorder to monitor my new maid. Could pm me the supplier name, brand and cost? Thank you so much ^_^

huh, what if HOME and TW2 complain and say it is against the maid's human rights to have her privacy intruded and demand it to be removed?

If the NGOs, or even MOM for that matter, can assure you of your household safety why not? Which is more important to you - household safety vs maid privacy?

Maid privacy here implies not installing a camera in her room (if she sleeps in a separate room) or installing one in the toilets. Otherwise the above statements stand.

FYI, a camera can have more than 10 uses besides maid monitoring.

I will be getting my first maid soon. My kids are 2 and 8 yrs old. There are no other adults at home to supervise the maid as both me and my other half are working.

I have never employed a maid before, hence i’m rather nervous! Ha. I’m seriously thinking of installing a home CCTV. Would like to have some advice:

- anyone has contacts of installation of home CCTV?
- Do i need to inform the maid that i have such surveillance at home?
- Do i need to inform the maid agency?

anyway the new maid will find out about it soon.

and i think u can put in anywhere in ur house, other then the toilet…

maybe u can check out the shops in sim lim square and sim lim tower.

My advice no to CCTV…

I put a CCTV facing the door, and I tell her that this CCTV will record videos and sound. The reason why I put there is to ensure that we will record any contact with strangers or anyone who wants to disturb our maid.


And, if she encounters any misbehaving strangers, we want her to point the stranger to the camera, which will definitely hinder any threats.

I want my maid to think that we are protecting her from outsiders, which is a good thing. Of course, she also knows that with this active camera she cannot bring in any friends, which is my chief concern.

I have gotten my 4 channel CCTV recorder. I think it is fine to let your maid know there is such devices in there. Make sure she change in the toilet and not in the room. It is very good as when u are at work, u can just click on the application on IPhone to view your baby and it really helps to de stress.

You can consider this IP camera, it is much cheaper than CCTV and easier to use and to monitor your maid.

You can set motion detection to record and send emails alert to you.
