Hi, mongz. Glad you like the video 😄

I showed it to my 4 and 6 yr old girls. My 6 yr old cried after watching it. I guess the effect is good since she can read the words. I read the words to my 4 yr old and although she is quite affected as well, she was asking alot of \"not so relevant\" questions about why he was in so much pain and why he cried and why they all start at different starting line since they are racing...haha!

Hi. Would like to share an award-winning documentary that you can watch on Youtube. It is about a teacher from a primary school in Kanazawa, northwest of Tokyo, Japan, Toshiro Kanamori.

\"What's the most important thing this year?\" asks Toshiro Kanamori to his students.

\"To be happy!\" comes the joyous response.

Kanamori Sensai believes that it is important to be happy. He reminds his pupils that they go to school to understand how to be happy and to learn to care for one another.

Highly recommended for parents who think that it is important to nurture our kids to have empathy and care for others.

Hey…have you all heard about 弟子规? It is the traditional moral values taught by Kong Zi. I think it is very good and as parents, it is very important that adults set a good example. Of course not forgetting that the media now is a super bad influence, the more we need a set of rules for the child to follow.

It's never too early to nurture entrepreneurship. I don't see anything wrong with that. Your child made something which people want, and in return he gets something that he wants too.

Entrepreneurship is OK...but must ensure it's done in the correct way...and no exploitation of those innocent minds of fellow schoolmates. 😄

Schools and teachers are not responsible of a child’s upbringing. I think we as parents have to take responsibility.

It is important to set a good example to our little ones. Once damaged, it is difficult to undo it. However, it is better to correct it then to let it continue to manifest into something worst.

Values are the gyroscope of our lives. They are the first prompting to do good and the last bastion against evil.

                        a)

if your child's current pre-school (kindergarten / child care centre) does not teach \"Di Zi Gui\" important Chinese moral character values from a very young tender age, yet you would love your child to learn them, pls be informed that come nearer this year end around November 2012, there are RC (Residential Committees) start conducting \"Di Zi Gui\" for K1 / K2 kids, in small groups.

for more info, kindly contact RC lao shi at tel: 6554-4600

The Chinese teacher will not just ask your child memorize \"Di Zi Gui\", but also explain the meaning behind it. The admin girl will ask you which area you stay in, then recommend the nearest RC closest your home.

Character moulding / building crucial from young. No point having a child academically brillant, but rotten character. One who shouts at parents, rude, shows no respect at home, talk back to parents, argue back or challenge parents authority at home, remain ungrateful. Or even worse, dump parents into old folks home, never visit them, treating
their old parents like some kind of trash bag. Not all kindergarten and childcare centres in Singapore teach \"Di Zi Gui\".

once Primary 1 starts, the heavy academic rigour kicks in. You won't have time. Character moulding and foundation building is crucial for young kids, esp. the initial first 6 years from birth.
when go Primary 1, some schools teach \"Di Zi Gui\". But not all schools. Nowadays, many youth are self centred. Tendency to adopt \"is ME, ME, ME\" selfish attitude.

                        ============================================================================================

                        b)

if you do NOT wish to go RC if the timing doesn't fit well, another route is \"Guang Ming Shan, ground floor Room number 8\" in Bishan.
This programme has to be parents accompanied. So both parents and child learn \"Di Zi Gui\" together. Parents sit with child together inside classroom, observe.

Go home, parents revise with child the meaning taught.
Teacher ask parents try to reinforce concepts taught, teach child \"Real life application\" what is honour & respect, be responsible for oneself, caring, etc.
We as parents are responsible. Schools and teachers are not responsible of our own child's upbringing.
it is better to correct your child early asap, then to let it continue to manifest into something \"worse\".

Teacher teach, according to age group.

                        a) for kindergarten K1 / K2 kids - starting coming Sunday morning, 29 April, 9 am - 10.30 am (1.5 hrs duration)

                        b) for Primary / Secondary / Poly / JC / Uni students before stepping out into society to work - is ongoing every Friday night, 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm (2 hrs duration).

To register, may contact tel: 6849-5300.

                        i) watch this video (on sound system):-
4 old Hokkien ladies chit chat at old folks home - how each of their child treat them, when they grow old.

                        http://wisecurve.com/meaningful-stories-for-chinese-new-year/

ii) 38 year old man fought over a seat inside MRT with an elderly - punched, slapped, kicked old folks. Someone took snapshot of him on the spot, showed MRT officials evidence.
When reach next station, MRT officials stopped him from leaving, called in police.

during interogation, police discovered he has this habbit of punching his elderly Dad at home too. His poor suffering Dad didn't want to make a fuss.
But police sent him to jail - for bully and attacking elderly inside MRT train.
