Both the 其中 and 当中 has quite similar meaning but to use it in Chinese, there's still a bit of difference

I guess another way of using this term is as in 乐在其中.

Yeah..I heard someone using it so I could do the HYPY. Thought it is interesting to know how to use this. I believe it is good to strengthen our Chinese vocabulary so that even when people \"scold\" us we know what it means... :rotflmao:

Anybody knows whether there are tutors who can teach adults chinese? Sorry I think this is off-topic but i am desperate to improve my chinese so I can at least help my kids at home, I find sending them to centres are not enough.

I am not sure what standard of Chinese you are trying to achieve, just spoken or written, reading and spoken and what is your starting level?

If you just want to converse with your children, watching Chinese drama is one good way to learn.

Can help - how to use 代替 and 替代? :?:

My DD1 in her P4 CA1 has the sentence that read,
妈妈出门前吩咐我______[dai(4) ti(4)]她照顾生病的妹妹.

She is supposed to write the 汉字 in the underline above and my dear DD1 instead of writing 代替 wrote 替代 instead! There goes the precious 2 marks! :rant: :mad: :stupid: :slapshead: :stompfeet: :frustrated:

But that also sets me thinking how one uses the term 代替 and 替代?
