Such as? Fill in the blanks with a suitable word of your choice...

Like appointing him as our roving ambassador and making him read a keynote speech everywhere he goes praising our country for investing in a ( ) person like him despite all the ( ) he has done for us?

      Like CCW?

Make him do community service work. Send him to a home for the aged to spend some time with the folks there.

with his background may be he would buy someone to do for him ?

Better not. If he goes there and blares out his infamous comments, those poor folks who worked so hard to fund him, yet end up staying there while he flies high...ai yo...they might just get a cardiac arrest!

He might pick a thing or two from these creatures on faithfulness and loyalty after facing them day in day out.

As we've invested so much in Sun Xu, I don't think it is a good idea to expel him. It will also make us come across as an ungenerous lot of people. But I think that disciplinary action needs to be taken. NUS can take away his scholarship entitlements for one year. The award can be reinstated if he does well in his studies and makes some effort to give back to the country that is sponsoring his studies.

We need to send a strong message home even if we have invested-
all the more FT that enjoy these priviledges should appreciate it

                  irresponsible social ranting. :nunchuk:
communtiy social work is not enough... he been here since sec 3,
does he not know how we think and feel or is he totally oblivious
in his own comfortable ivory tower in SG ....
pay us back what we invested and send him home
we dont need this kind of junk

Then he will really get it from them and it will serve him right. Some of the old folks are well-versed in colourful language. :heresmyfish:

The PRC scholars are not the only ones living in an ivory tower. Sun Xu's view is perhaps extreme, but it is a manifestation of the type of education he has had, which has done nothing to instill good values in him.

Since he's been in Singapore since Sec 3, I think our education system needs to share part of the blame as well. I am very curious to know if any attempt is being made in the top schools to teach students how to relate to people from different backgrounds.
