Smiths Fish & Chips
-
I finally tried Smiths. I had the cod and haddock. The haddock was better than the cod. Tastier. The chips were alright but rather oily. The mushy peas were good. Didn’t dare try the pickled eggs.

Ya, I prefer the haddock too. But very expensive. I wonder if there are other fish and chippies that sell cheaper haddock? I really detest dory fish. It seems that all the places use dory, even Fish and Co. Anyone tried the Marks and Spencer frozen haddock fillets? Wonder if they are any good. Quite tempted to try but the thought of having to deep fry in my kitchen puts me off!

For those near Holland V, there's Fosters. Good fish and chips there too. The one at Greenwood should be Greenwood Fish Market and Bistro. Compared to when it started a few years back, I think standard has dropped...
Foster's is nice but different from this \"authentic British style Fish & Chips\" -
went there last weekend for lunch, seems not so pack now.
-
Try cod fish first, British only use salt and viniger, no other sause.
we should try like real British--eating on the street.

not in our hot weather and dusty road.

How is the Greenwood one compared to Smiths? I tried Smiths (Haddock and Dory) and liked it, was wondering if Greenwood's one is of similar std or better as it looks a bit more atas haha.. -
Btw the Smiths place does have tartar sauce, just need to ask them. They also have chilli sauce at some of the tables.

I bought Mox Deal coupon (buy 1 and a standard cod free) and visited Smith’s this evening. Tried the haddock and the original cod. Both were very bland. Not so nice.

Tried the haddock. Didn’t like it. Also ordered the fried mars bar. Won’t be going back there again.
