        Zeus:

The HFMD is back. My son was infected after a few of his friends in child care center got it. Now struggling to apply leave to take of my kid, while in the midst of heavy workload.

Some general guidelines that I am currently following:

        1) Drink lots of fluid.

        2) Ensure that his hands are washed before meals.

        3) Coax him into taking light food (even though its very painful).

        4) Get an oral drop from the doctor which relieve the pain for a short period of time.

🙏 ur DS get well soon.

        U take care. :hugs:

        Hi BlurBee,

Thank you. I am glad that my son has recovered just after 8 days. I believe that a child's immune system plays a part in the recovery process. 😓

            Dear all,

Are the fees for HFMD consultation very high?

Nope, it should be the same as normal consultation fee…

Ds who is 4 years old got HFMD again!

Last year he got infected twice... I heard that kids from 5 years old onwards are less likely to get infected, is it true?
                I suppose so.

When I was 5 years and under the year was 1999-2004.

Didn't catch any HFMD. Neither have I caught HFMD ever since till now :imanangel:

                    Hi!

The fees are the same as normal consultation, however you are required to bring your child back to certify \"fit for school\" before putting him back into child care.

                    Cheers.

So scary, HFMD back at epidemic levels. Makes people very wary about bringing kids below age 7 to public play areas… even those nice looking indoor playgrounds can be germfests…
