is there any exam for P1? is it difficult?
Yes, there is exam for Pr 1. I was like you, clueless, didn't know how and what the children willl be tested for the entrance exam. Tried finding their exam papers from the market and was told that the school doesn't allow the kids to bring home the exam papers, there's no way for them to obtain a copy. Not to worry, just go through what he has learnt in school.
u mean ur boy also a transferred student?
hi 2DMommy
may i know is there any interview beside written test? -

My elder boy is currently P3 and younger boy is K1
Hi there,ChiefKiasu:
Hi, my elder son just transferred to the school beginning of the year, another boy will be joining him the following year!
Neat! How old are your sons? Which Primary levels are they?
My son is also a transfer student, P3/2009. He has a brother in P1/2009. I must say that Maris is pretty strong academically but not holistic. My elder boy came from a boy school which provides lots of fun activities for boys. The reason of change is to expose him to higher chinese. He did not really enjoy his PE lessons and complains that teacher came with high heels to teach PE.
Well, of course not all teachers do that and at times we have to depend on luck to have good teachers who are really passionate about teaching.
I hope Maris will start to stream the students from P3 as I personally don't believe in mixed ability. It's not doing good to both the better and slower lots. -

The entrance exam is actually the SA exams that all Marist sat for that particular year. That explain why the boys are not allowed to bring home the exam papers.
Honestly, in order to secure a place, your child needs to do well as the school only select the good ones.
My son went throught that last year when he was in P2. A total of almost 40 fighting for 10 vacancies. Good luck to you!
