CA1 was a killer for us too, but it looks like the whole cohort suffered so it was tough papers and not just the individual. Some of the kids broke down in class and cried.
I really question the logic of setting such difficult papers … but well, the battle goes on ! 加油 everyone ! March is here…counting down ! -

Can give some examples of the difficult sums. I am always very interested to know the 'killer questions'. TIA and jia you to all dd and ds who are taking PSLE this year.CA1 was a killer for us too, but it looks like the whole cohort suffered so it was tough papers and not just the individual. Some of the kids broke down in class and cried.

For my case, is not much the killer paper that pissed me off. The p6 teachers all suddenly marking the papers using "psle standard". Boys who used to be top scorer in science all scored in the range of 70-80. More then 1/2 the class in the 60 range. The teacher told the boys that he doesnt care what had been taught in p5 by another teacher but the class has to follow his standard now. Poor boys are totally confused! My dh is the one who teaches my DS science and went through his paper and realized that answers that were accepted in p5 are deemed not specific enough by the p6 teacher now…

Hi,
To better prepare for PSLE Maths, you may wish to consider the one-day Maths Workshops during the March holidays.
Please see:

DD did better than expected for maths and science but her languages slid.
Perhaps coz she’s been regularly revising both her maths and science but not her language subjects. -

Perhaps DD's school maths papers not as tough... no one cried.
Take a break and move on!!! As you've said, it's a marathon! :rahrah: -
To better prepare for science ? Any workshop?

Hi, maybe you can join the PSLE 2012 PSLE discussion and strategy thread? Think there are some very good advice given by others. I am struggling with my child (P6 too this year) so am not in the position to give any advice.
All the best!
