You can try Icing Room (tat cake shop that lets pple decorate cakes themselves). They sell some edible decor items. Quite a few branches around - Compass Point, Nex etc
2nd choice would be to buy plastic animal figurines from Kiddy Palace (they have farm animals and dinosaurs etc), wash them and put them on the icing. Think your kid would prefer this option coz he can play with them after eating the cake.
You are a nice mommy to even think of doing this!

Thanks Cherrygal!
thnk I would just get some plastic toys, but to find the right size, not easyβ¦wait the toys bigger than the cake! hahahβ¦ -
Dd3 asked for a princess cake for her birthday. A very challenging task so I did a trial cake and it turned out quite well. So happy
All in all, I made 3 cakes. A trial princess cake, a 2nd mermaid cake for home celebration and a 3rd princess cake for school celebration.
Just want to share my joy on my success

Hi Funz, I am very new to baking and would like to give this a try. Could you give me the recipe for the pancake?http://www.pastrychef.com/DANISH-EBELSKIVER-PAN_p_1486.html
The pan looks like the one in the link above.
It is pancake presented in a different way. The batter is basically like pancake batter. To make it fluffier, I beat the whites separately. With pancake you dump the fruit or sauces or jams on it after the pancake is done. With Ebelskivers, all these are sealed in these little balls when you cook the batter. Makes it easier to eat.
Thanks -

β’\t2 cups all-purpose flour
β’\t1 tsp. baking powder
β’\t1/2 tsp. salt
β’\t1 Tbs. sugar
β’\t4 eggs, separated
β’\t2 cups milk
β’\t4 Tbs. melted butter
β’\tFillings: jams, Nutella, choc. chips, white choc, chips and jam (soo good), peanut butter...
Directions
1.\tThis recipe requires a filled pancake/Ebelskiver pan.
2.\tIn a bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking powder and sugar.
3.\tIn a small bowl, lightly whisk the egg yolks and then whisk in the milk and the 4 Tbs. melted butter.
4.\tWhisk the yolk mixture into the dry ingredients until well combined; batter will be lumpy.
5.\tIn another bowl, using an electric mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, whisk egg whites on high speed until stiff but NOT dry peaks form (2-3 minutes). Using a rubber spatula, gently fold the whites into the batter in two additions.
6.\tPut 1/4 tsp. butter in each well for the pan. Set over medium heat until the butter begins to bubble (but not browns). Pour 1 Tbs. batter into each well followed by filling choice, top with another 1/2 - 1 Tbs. of batter. Cook until the bottoms are golden brown and crispy.
7.\tUsing chopsticks, gently flip the pancakes over and cook until golden and crispy.
8.\tTransfer to a plate.
9.\tRepeat with remaining batter.
10.\tServe immediately with powdered sugar, syrup, whipped cream -- whatever you like. -

does anyone knows if there is a difference between AMERICAN 1 (or tbsp for that matter) and metric or imperial measurement??
