:hi5: same here. Not even sure if DH & I would have enough to put 2 consecutively (cos only 1 year apart) in uni. My kids should be counting their blessings if we can pay for them in full, otherwise they better do some part-time to help pay their fees. Can forget about tuition..... :roll:schweppes:

I would even expect my kids to be capable of doing the laundry or cook a simple meal occasionally

no need to wait till uni age to learn to do housework. my dds help me to do simple chores like folding clothes, sweeping the floor and washing their dishes. In fact, when dd1 was 12yo, she will even help me to wash the toilets - even tho i don't ask her or expect her to do that. :love: my mom said that she's better than me at 12yo than when i was a 12yo :oops:

Would expect my kids to do some part time work during uni to earn their keeps, and tuition or teaching music can be quite good money (see how much the parent pay for tuition in the other threadSAHM_TAN:

cannot lah! I feel something seriously wrong with the child if the child doesn't feel paiseh about still having tuitions at that age!
But again, there are surely parents out there who believe the money is well-spent to get a good report card.

Is it reasonable to expect the kids, who are so used to tuition from kindy to JC, not to rely on tutors at uni level? I know of parents who provide lots of tuition to their primary school kids but expect their kids to turn independent overnight when they go to secondary schools. But they have a shock when they realise that their kids need more tuition at secondary level cos more subjects to cope with so they continue to provide tuitions. But seriously, can we expect our kids to know how to fish when all that we did is to provide unlimited supply of fishes at all time to them?
