Come to Maris Stella High School! Its an all-boys SAP school

My friend went there! He got a MacBook Air for all his lessons at MSHS.

On this note, many kids here would want to go. -WAHAHAHAHAHA-

And parents probably won't allow them to spend $2000 to buy a MacBook Air ๐Ÿ˜‰

          Hi,

Which school has better management and maybe more dedicated teachers? I know every school will have a number of dedicated teachers but I would like to know if some schools have better management and thus more motivated teachers..my boy's choice of schools is Dunman, Hwa Chong and Anderson (if he cannot get into the other 2), anyone has any input regarding the teachers in these schools?

My fren who recently went to HCI says he got a lot of homework. I often see him slogging into the wee hours of the night doing homework while FACEBOOKING. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Same as in DHS.......... ๐Ÿ˜‰
It is not uncommon to see pupils still online discussing school work during the wee hrs
as seen in dhs mail chat.
Regarding teachers, yr 1 and yr2 teachers are super nice,
          Friendly, Approachable, Negotiable and Patience.......
But for yr3, cant say all these for yr 3 teachers.......
And they are rather fierce....... ๐Ÿ˜“ (observations gathered from my gal )

I'm not in HCI. So I'm homework-free. So I come KSP XD

I said my friend was in HCI. Not me ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks for the information. So the schools generally have a lot of homework. I guess that is to be expected. What school are you in Ichigokun?

I hve 2 kids, the elder took his PSLE in yr 2005 and will be enlisted coming May. The younger girl took her PSLE in yr 2006 and is now in j2.

If i will to do it all over again, apart from academics, ccas and travelling distance are my main consideration and i heck care about a schoolโ€™s culture and IP status or not doesnโ€™t bother me at all.

From a parent whose kids qualifed for IP schools but only the younger one had chosen this route.

CHS. Teachers here are strict at times and also friendly in appropriate ocassions. I like it ๐Ÿ˜‰

I heard that the discipline in CHS is good. That may be another consideration for my boy but he says he does not like CHS well we will see. What was the cut off point for CHS last year do you know?

This year (2012 S1 admission) (PSLE 2011) COP is 248. In 2013, CHS will go IP. So your DS can take the IP route too ๐Ÿ˜‰

CHS is not bad. What's more (this is news from the inside!) the principal says he will build a new students corner facility (it's quite big actually.) because of the IP route available in 2013.

O level course students will be able to use the facility too :imanangel:

Here's the COP of CHS for the past years (O-level-route)

                      Sec 1 Admission (2009) COP: 249
                      2010 COP: 248
                      2011 COP: 247
                      2012 COP: 248

I understand IP route isn't simple and requires kids to be independent learners. My son is hoping to get into SJI or ACS independent. So I hope he is able to focus and work very hard (without me having to nag) to get into his dream secondary school. it's already mid March.
