I do not teach in advance at home and had stopped Maths Hub lessons becos I felt they do so, hoping that he would be more interested in the school classroom setting. Sadly it did not work out this way.

Aiyoh Jennifer, the reason your ds2 only 'sometimes pay attention in class' is because he finds class unchallenging mah. Having spent time playing coin carrom with him - a game he invented - I'm quite sure he can easily cope with work 1-2 levels above his current level.

Note to parents @ BackGate :If your child walks back home from the back gate, please remind him/her to use the void decks or pedestrial walkway along the carpark as much as possible. Watch out when walking in front of the parked cars in the carpark to get home. Cross the road with care.
Yesterday witnessed an accident along the road between Blk4/5. A lower primary girl was knocked down by a car when she dashed across the road without looking!! She has no visible injury but then... :xedfingers:

also, I need to find English tuition class for my boys. any recommendation? Their weakness.. compre n compo. Went to Minds' WToolbox...not suitable for my boys....

Why you say they're not suitable for your boys? Maybe from your reason we can provide better suggestions.

I know that a few of us are sending our kids to TLL & TAS. I sent mine to Creative Horizons. But the best of them all is E3 Learning Ctr, hahaha.

On a serious note, I kinda of feel my P5 boy is very relaxed vs my elder's P5.

There are clearly less worksheets, esp in EL and MA.

Definitely not what I expected after reading Janet's sharing of the workload her boy had last year.

I think they swap Ts for the top class annually so your DS1 & DS2 may have different Ts.

Hi php,

Was the EL paper a killer? Although my dd said only 2 students scored A in her class, we were really disappointed with her dismaying results, which we attributed it to her complacency.

I didn't have a chance to check her EL papers yet (wow-say, got to check both kids' exam papers, a total of 9 sets with some paper1/2, booklist A/B, in 2 hours!), my dh did that. He mentioned the loss of marks was due to a mixture of carelessness and some tricky questions.

Personally, I think it may be a good lesson learned too - not to be too complacent! Luckily it was CA1

Yes, I think P3 English must be a killer. My son said only 5 pupils in the whole cohort got band 1. I have not looked thru the questions tho.

Programme's fun and interesting though. My dd is enjoying .

We are surviving...haha...Thanks for asking. Sometimes, there were some confusing instructions...perhaps due to many new unfamiliar projects. However, after floundering around, we made it ultimately till end of term one in one piece!

I'm doing an experiment mah ..... trying to see if ds learns more if I home-school him for the day or if he goes to school.

I see. Many of these ctrs nowadays assume that students are already strong foundationally and proceed right away to teach the more cheem stuff.

Have you enquired about Apple Newton at JE? One ctr I know who pitches the exercises to each individual student's current std is Novel at Clementi Vibes. So students in the same level, same timing maybe doing different assessments altogether. But I'm not sure whether they have P5 English or not.
