Solutions:1) Tan bought 16 kg of meat. He use 3/8 of it to make meatballs and 1/2kg to make some dumplings. How many kilograms of meat had she left?
2) ___ + ____ + _____ =12/14
what is ____ * 21?
3)A bottle of syrup was 3/4 full. After chan used 100ml of syrup from the bottle, it became 5/12 full. What was the capacity of the bottle?
Pl explain me in detail how to do this questions?
1) After using 3/8 of the meat to make meatballs, Tan must have 1-3/8=8/8-3/8=5/8 of the meat left. This is equal to 16*5/8=10 kg of meat. After using 1/2kg of the meat left to make dumplings, Tan would have 10-1/2 = 9 1/2 kg of meat left. Hence the answer is 9 1/2 kg.
2) This question is quite ambiguous. I assume that each of the three blanks represent the same fraction. In that case, we divide 12/14 by 3 to get 4/14. The blank represents 4/14, and 21 times of 4/14 is equal to 4/14*21=4/2*3=6. Hence the answer is 6.
3) At first, it was 3/4 full, and after that, it was 5/12 full. Hence, Chan must have used 3/4-5/12=9/12-5/12=4/12=1/3 of the bottle's syrup. Since 1/3 of the bottle's syrup is 100 ml (given by question), the capacity of the bottle is 100*3=300 ml. Hence the answer is 300 ml.
Hope this helps. -

HiHi pls help
The ratio of Christine's age to Wendy's age is 5 : 6.

Thanks
Christine's age --> 5u
Wendy's age --> 6u
5 years' time :
Christine's age --> 5u + 5
Wendy's age --> 6u + 5
11u + 10 --> 76, 1u --> 6
6 x 6 = 36. Wendy's is 36 years old now.
cheers. -
Bala left $28 = 2/3 money
Bala spent 1/3 = $14
Total amount Bala has = 3 x $14 = $42
Ali has $126 - $42 = $84 at first
He spent 1/3 = $84 / 3 = $28
Ali left $84 - $28 = $56
