Mr Heng must recognise that some schools are more popular for some valid reasons, for which he should not brush aside and say all schools are good and parents must change perception of neighbourhood schools. The fact is, some neighbourhood schools are just better than other neighbourhood
      Well said!!

We are all together in a very hot room. Minister Heng sits there coolly looking at us and says \"It's not hot. It's all your perception.\"

But why not just ban it like firecracker or chewing gum? Short and sharp.

        Can ban, ban..

        cannot ban.. ban advertisement..

Maybe the banning of tuition advertisement will work. Tuition centres usually list down their top scocers in PSLE in their advertisement. This gives a wrong impression to some parents that in order to do well in PSLE, one has to go for tuition. One has to realise that by going to XXX tuition centre does not mean excellent results in the PSLE. There are pupils going to XXX tuition centre but score only so so results in the PSLE. Just that it is not reflected in the advertisement.[/quote]Juz like MLM.. they ask to to join seminars and ask their top earner to give inspirational talks etc.. how they made millionaires, drive big cars, go on holidays to exotic locations, no need work got $$$$ passive income etc..

They will spare no efforts to introduce their top guys who \"made it\". What they'll never tell you is the 99.999999999999% who never made it and is rearing (养) the few who \"made it\"..

Good idea. Then we can discuss how unfair it is that not all kiasu parents are reading this forum and how we can ask the govt to level the playing field.

Oh no, would there be suggestion to close down such forum then? Or there would be enrichment/tuition class for kiasu parents.

                        Indeed interesting!
