Dear Mummies, my son will be registering for P1 next year. However, we have lost his health book. But I do have a copy of his immunisation summary cert issued by the polyclinic. Can anyone advise me if this is good enough? Is there any other use of the healthbook besides P1 registration? Just worry that it is needed for some other purposes. Thanks

There's a discussion on the topic \"Branded vs Neighbourhood schools\" tomorrow at 8pm on Channel News Asia. It might be interesting for some to weigh in on what's being shared. http://blogtv.channelnewsasia.com/default.aspx

Below was abstracted from MOE website:

          Immunisation Certificates
All parents should produce the immunisation certificates (BCG, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, poliomyelitis, measles, mumps, rubella and Hepatitis B) of their children at the time of registration. Documentary evidence of immunisation can be downloaded from the National Immunisation Registry website. http://www.nir.hpb.gov.sg/nir/eservices/eservice.jsp

You may want to check out above web sites.

By the way, student is required to bring the health booklet to school for some health / eye-sight check up from time to time.

              Hi Mummies,

I just shifted to Punggol and EdgeField & Horizon is within 1km. Which is better? Do I still need a contingency plan for schools within 2km? Which is better - Greendale, Mee Toh, Rivervale, Compassvale, Seng Kang, North Spring? Pls help! PANIC PANIC!!! I would prefer to have my kids in the morning session. And I still need to find out about After School Care! -.-"

              Thanks in advance!!!

If your boy qualifies under P2A, he will have a 99.99% chance of getting in, as of today.

Edgefield is a more established school, so the demand is there. From http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/punggol, their 2C TUR had been increasing over the years. So it will likely see balloting this year, but possibly for those living outside 2km. Unfortunately the history does not show the result from last year's registration, else we will have a clearer picture.

Horizon, on the other hand, only started operation in 2010. So demand in the earlier phases 1 - 2B is low. So you are pretty certain of getting a place in phase 2C.

It looks like you won't have to consider any other schools other than these 2. And both of them operate at single session (ie. morning).

Can't help you on after school care though. Perhaps you might want to check out the respective school's parents networking thread to see if there's any info there?

                      Hey Thanks Class Monitor! 🙂
Yes, I have called up to check on the schools. Both operates in the morning session and both schools have ASC within the school compound.
So its great news for me! 🙂 However, from the conversation I had, I feel that Horizon may not be fully ready yet... Just my personal opinion...
