All Schools are GOOD Schools

Just to be fair, I believe there are still many good teachers in schools. For instance, my sil’s dd has one such good teacher. Knowing that the child has a higher learning ability than her current class, she fights to move her into one of the best classes. She recognises the child’s strength in maths and suggested to my sil to let her dd skip supplementary classes. Instead of the classes, she would give her more higher level work to do at home.

The problem is my son doesn’t like to go to tuition.I can afford a cheap tuition.

He said learn from his T and Teach him.But no MT PTM in my school and they put their email id in their website,only HOD’s id there.My son refused to bring the school diary to T.

For the benefit of the students in general, perhaps you can consider writing to MOE to inform them your DS's English teacher's incompetency problem (without mentioning names), so that MOE could do something about it?

I emailed the HOD... that should work?

Sorry, I mean, MOE should check that the teacher is truely competent in English before he/she's allowed to teach English in school. Ditto for other subjects.

Never in your experience does not mean such cases don't exist. But I sincerely hope instances like my experience are very rare. On the whole, (despite my share of some not-so-good teachers) I think most of the teachers I encountered have done a relatively good job.[/quote]they are NOT rare. very common. already experienced with 2 of my kids already.
feedback or complain or whatever-we-want-to-name-it, if its something that teachers don't like to hear, if it's got something to do with their teaching style or their personality, etc, kid will surely kena. Either will have less leadership opportunities, more scoldings in class, etc.
Now i experienced already. For the sake of my youngest kid who is still in the school and who may eventually get the same teacher in years to come, i try to close one eye.

How about calling the MT teacher for a meeting to address your worries? Ask her if she has any resources to share, any special ways to work with your son. My son's P1 MT teacher told me the best way to improve is by reading more storybooks.

Thanks for ur suggestion.I need to go to office and get the number.Last week in the term 1 I asked my son to get the number he said T so busy I cannot disturb.i didn't get his mt paper as well.some more she collected all the compos to file.so I cannot do any rivision in the holiday.
The office never give the ts numbers easily.u have to fight with them like many times call and pass a memo to t.Then only T call us.After that u cannot contact for ur life.I don't understand why a big struggle to contact a T.Last year I experienced for E.

[/quote]You mean the teacher's personal number? If you are requesting for that, I can understand why the school made it so hard for you.

Another way is to just request for a brief meeting after school.

Don't worry, you will still get to hear from the teacher. Just that got to be more creative.
