My son is in SCOUT camp these days. It is raining these days and very cold. I am worrying very much because they are sleeping on the grass ground.

Their handphones are all collected by trainer, I can not get the latest information.
Why do not the boys hold their hand phone?

their tents are just next to the Rajaratnam block, no worry

phones are kept away to remove the source of distractions for the kids, esp during group activities. they are old enough to be alone and cut off from communication with family for a few days

everyone without phone will be fair for everyone

Parents, these are boys, they need to be exposed to such things! And if they are Singaporeans, they will go through worse in National Service.

My son is in National Service BMT now, and he is out in field camp this week, raining every day and he is sleeping in a tent for 2 in the jungle!

Please do not say that is different, no choice cos your sons will have to go through that later in their life, and if they are not trained up now, they will suffer when they go to NAtional Service!

The school will always take a priority in taking care of your sons, so just take it that it is part of their growing up.

DS came home from 2D1N RV Camp, tired but not dirty..
DS says there were lots of outdoor activities (DS looks like a lobster now), but no choir practices at all, during the camp..
DS says they slept in the air-conditioned classrooms.. 😄

The boy brigaders went hiking on first day from RI to West Coast (abt 7 hours). They were supposed to hike their on their own using maps (sec 4 seniors with them but did not render any advice - even if they go wrong direction). Fortunately, they were able to find the way there. First nite slept at tents. Then subsequent nites at RI school compound (air cond classroom).

Wow! Seems like most CCAs have camps during the March holidays.
Wonder if there is any camp during the June holidays too?
                    Hope not... :skeptical:

It should be listed in the CCA letter to parents where all the training /CCA days are stated together with camps and major activities and events. If not, can email teacher IC. However, some of the dates may be tentative and details not finalized yet.
