      Hi mezzo17 and rachelynn,

Do u mind telling me how much is the car rental fee for your trip?
Is the parking very expensive in Perth?

Did u collect the car from airport or in the city?

Rachelynn, nvr heard of the car rental co. U rented the car from but heard bays waters is popular but also lots of scams. Maybe yours is a safer bet.

Nissin...hmmm off-hand cannot rem the charges, i try to trace back and pm u?...and I think we did not paid for any parking when we were driving in perth. Parking was free at most places, e.g swan valley (caversham park and all the farms/vinyards have free parking), fremantle , Guildford, Sorrento Beach area (AQWA- can give it a miss), Scarborough & Cottesloe Beaches. We picked up the car from Airport and we returned at Perth City. We didn't drive around Perth city area, so i'm not sure of the parking charges.

Btw if you plan to visit swan valley on yr own, u can google swan valley food & wine trail map and it will give u a gd idea of swan valley itself.

Oh I c, didn't know the parking is free at all these places cos I heard city
          parking is really exp.
          Is driving easy in Perth?
And ya, how did u get to airport on your way back? By cab?
Need some advice here, my flights are all midnight flight at 1am..don't think
it's safe if I drive at that hour right? That's why we forego the idea of
renting a car. And we have to check out at 1030am, hmm..what can we do? Leave the luggages at the hotel and go shopping ard till 9pm then take a cab to airport for departure? It's a bit of a headache here..

I visited Perth in 2008. Within the city, there are car park charges, so u would need to plan when to rent or return the car. Parking is usually free on the outskirts. If u stay at goodearth , Avis and thrifty are walking distance away. I only picked up and returned my rental car in city , first day i only visited the city area. Second day we joined day tour to caversham wildlife park and pinnacles. 3rd day , i picked up the car to visit fremantle and the King’s park. 4th day i drove south to Albany and then come back via the pemberton, margaret river river route (with stayover at different places)…Avis and thrifty rates are slightly more ex but should be more "reliable".

To me, driving in Perth is easier than Malaysia. Traffic may be faster on highways, but it is still generally safe.

I think my last day flight is around 6-7pm. You timed your car return such that it do not incur an extra day. I returned early around 9 am, checked out hotel at 1130hr and left our luggage at hotel. We shopped in city and
return to hotel and took a cab to airport. I think it should cost around $50 SGD.

I think we will just rent a car for one day to drive to the caversham and swan valley as it's not convenient to take public transport. The rest of the places we want to visit are Fremantle, harbourtown, Perth city and kings park. Think all these places are more accessible by cat buses and trains?

When driving in Perth, please ensure that you keep to the speed limit. I was over the limit by 5km/h and kena summon. As I rented the car, there is another AUD$30 admin charges by the rental company. I appealed but to no avail. Other than this, driving in Perth is convenient.

For those renting cars, i usually recommend my frens to bring the luggage to the lockers at the airport first, then return your cars. This way u dun have to lug your stuff ard… Not to exp, i think i paid less than $25 n spent the rest of the day shopping!!
