I always machine wash his uniforms. That's why crumpled lor. Seems like I'm the only one having problems ironing the shorts. Maybe should consider hand washing and immediately hang up to avoid crumpling and ironing.

I wash DS' school uniforms in washing machine too (in fact, i wash everything in washing machine, can't imagine hand-washing laundry ), but i usually choose ''delicates'' wash option, so the washing time is shorter and the washing/spinning is more gentle..
My washing machine is Electrolux (front-loading), somehow the clothes are not so crumpled after washing.. phew! [/quote]for any machine wash, the clothes must be removed immediately the spin dry cycle is over, else the crumple will stay

if you have time immediately after the spin dry, iron it while still damp will give best result

The shirts ok - only the shorts - like very sensitive to heat. At first I thought it's my iron, but I've been using the iron on primary school uniforms all long no problem. Anyway, I read somewhere bibi & baba shifted? To where?

Verysuperkiasu, the iron temperature MUST be lowered to Rayon or Nylon level for the RI white shorts. This material is used for the shorts as I find the stains and dirt much easier to wash off than other natural fabrics like cotton. Happy ironing!

Can't find 'nylon' on the knob of my iron. Only got 'cotton, silk, fibre'? Nvm, will adjust to silk then. Can't afford to burn another hole in the pants.

Thanks for the tip, naggo-nitemare & vk2010. Now I got phobia ironing shorts.

Anyway, I always start with the coolest function on the steam iron, then slowly increase the heat, whenever necessary, sure wont go wrong..

Just went to bibi & baba to buy a new pair of shorts this morning. The lady there also cautioned me to turn the knob of my iron to 'nylon' before ironing.

The nylon setting is serious matter - that's the advice given by the seller at bibi baba. She emphasised cannot set high temperature when ironing shorts.
