      Jojobar:
      Hi

Just stumbled on the rosyth primary website, they had announced that they will not be accepting any parent volunteer for children born 2008.
      http://www.rosyth.moe.edu.sg/cos/o.x?c=/wbn/pagetree&func=view&rid=78756

Anyone know why ? Is it a hint that the new policy to be implemented will scape the whole pv thingie ?
Hi...I also asked the same question in my earlier post but seems no response...I called the school and their response to me was to revisit their school website next year for more information....

Hi all, my DD is born in 2008 and she will be going Pri 1 in 2015. As my mum is helping to look after her, I was orginally hoping to get into Rulang (my mum’s hse is just next to the school) of cos with PV as well but when I was looking at the site, I realise that we will be likely be placed in the phase 2B 1~2KM group, which means literally no choice at all. But its just next to my mums…ohh man I almost burst into tears when i saw the balloting part …

We now need to relook the other schs like Shuqun (my mum hse 1~2) or West Grove (my hse is within 1 km).

Its really a struggle as the ‘best’ sch is just downstairs but my ger will not be able to go in. Can i ask for some advice here?

        1. Should we even still try for Rulang with PV? My mind tells me not to waste time but my heart wants to do it…all parents will want to give the best to their children whereever possible rite? =(

        2. If we are using my mum add for Shuqun we will be in phase 2B 1~2KM group, same case as Rulang. Does any1 know how are the chances in this case and if we need to do PV and if we did will it secure a higher chance then?

        3. My hse is near to West Grove (> 1KM), does any1 knows if we need to do PV to secure a higher chance? Which means darling will need to take sch bus…haiz

Higher Chance as of now with PV (correct me if i’m wrong)
        1. West Grove?
        2. Shuqun?
        3. Rulang?

Many thanks in adv for any advice…

wait until new policy changes made to new P1 registration rules, announcement coming out soon.

your current plans made may or may NOT be applicable anymore -
          once new policy kicks in.

This is a question no one can answer at this point.

no choice ... everybody waiting for Mr Heng (neck long long liao!).

even some of my friends from 2007 batch called up some school yesterday, eager to find out why until now so long in March still no news whether they are accepted or rejected for PV. Even if rejected, is still a reply then plan somewhere else. But the school replied got to wait until end May then decide ... because school also want to hear annoucement from Ministry, before proceed next step. It's like everything on hold, stand still, suspended, KIV. Engine grind to a halt.

                Hello, new here.

My boy is from 2007, I have called up 3 schools around the area (TPY) and have received confusing information.

                1. Pei Chun - I called up and checked on the process and PV. The person (Sound like PRC?) just told me don’t bother, no more intake, school is full. When I check if there is any waiting list and ballot etc he repeated, don’t need to wait, school is full. Should I call the school again or MOE?

                2. St Andrews - Checked on PV, they said will call me back but till now, nothing.

                3. First TPY - The lady said don’t need to do PV, just wait for registration to open for 2014.

So what should I do now???

                TIA

How far is your house from this school?

For the past few years, this school had vacancies even after P2CS. So, yes, just wait for the registration to open.

                    hi hi..

my daughter is also a 2008 gal.. don't know which sch to choose etc! so confusing.
Does anyone know how to be a member of the school advisory / management committee? From MOE's website (http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/phases/), i found that if you are a member of the school advisory, your child will be in 2A(1).

but i have been searching but still don't know how to be that.. 😛

MOE is reviewing the P1 registration process. The staff in Pei Chun might not know MOE's directive and hence said the school was full.

Call them up again when the situation is clearer (May/June).
