one moment someone complained about tuition, and everyone says all the teachers have been asking the students to go get tuition ..... what a nation of tuition teachers and bla bla bla ........

and after some people start to say teachers never say go for tuition ...... ....

think must start a new thread \"Teachers never say go get tuition ....\" so that everyone can post there ....

Because different people got different view mah.

      The \"Someone\" want ban tuition

The \"Someone\" don't want ban tuition.

We can't please everyone lah. No matter how MOE change, \"someone\" will complain.

      LOL!!!

Not all parents has same experience.we didn't say all teachers asking to go tuition. We say about some Teachers in some school cos all the schools are not same GOOD.

My son weak in MT,though T doesn't find anything to tell me to improve. :? She just asked me to send tuition. :yikes:

My kids are in a SAP school and so far no teachers have ever asked us to solve the problems by sending kids to tuition. Teachers will usually hold remedial classes if they find that the kids are weak. When the kids improve, they get \"kick out\" so that other weaker kids can have a chance.

Also, in their school I observed that the higher the child's abilities, the bigger the class size. Eg. for children who are weak in MT or generally weak, they have 20+ pupils only. These are not foundation subjects. Still doing normal but rather the school wants to give these kids more attention.

I am unsure if that is the case for other schools.

My girl is in a neighourhood school, barely passed her P2 Chinese Exam last year. This year, she’s call up for remedial lesson. Managed to learn better this year. Of course, the new MT teacher helped too. With some practices and her better attention in class, she managed to score 60% for her mock test this yr, which is an accomplishment for me.

They stream MT classes by ability, so that the teachers can spend more time drilling the basics and give more help to those weaker ones.

Recently, we were ask to sign an application form to make payment from our child Edusave Account. Two of the items spell as follows:

              http://i42.tinypic.com/eskn13.jpg\">

I call the P regarding the above mention items, and was told that its kinds of software that manage student Portal, eLearning( distance learning in cause of SARS period) blogging and others. Further more I was told that every Terms the pupils need to make this 2 items again. I don’t agreed with the principle that this 2 software application should be under our account. I reason that this software application it’s a common use software application Like Microsoft office and any many others third party softwareware application. The school should pay full amount instead. The P say he had been doing this for 5 years now and I am the only one to complain. Hello! you could be wrong for 5 years and now I’m kind enough to correct you. To end he say he don’t want to “argue with me” and hang up even I'm still on line. I don’t think this is an argument a discussion or a feedback I suppose.. Dear P: Wonder the purchase of the Netbook can also be under the Edusave Account ??? he will tell you NO because.... this n that. BTW how they come out the amount ??? wonder how much is the software cost? Just do some maths 1500 pupils(Estimated P1 to P6) x $8(Pupils Pay) = 12K(per terms), 12K x 4(Terms)=48K and for 5 years will be 48k x 5(years) = $240K.??(compute base on Pupils Pay from Edusave) a software cost $240K+ +. Anyway this school needs audit !! (misuse our Edusave)

How can it possibly happen that ALL schools be the same ? Unless, there are no principals…just 1 minister in charge of all. Hahaha.

My daughter was identified for remedial last year when she was in P1. In a small group setting, she picked up a little faster. Her FT also got her to join the phonics group during school curriculum. I am impressed she has such a wonderful teacher. As of Jan this year, she continued with the remedial for all 3 subjects.
Btw, not all schools will do such a thing.
