      sashimi:
I grew up with it too. 🙂

One teaspoon mixed with plain water, every morning. Taken directly is ok too, but it's too sweet like that for me.

I have found that 松山 honey is also the most effective against lip ulcers. Applied directly to the ulcer, it will accelerate the healing. I've tried with other brands of honey and I am 100% on the fact that 松山 is the fastest healer.
Thank you for the reply. What abt those NZ Manuka honey? Worthwhile?

        Hi mummies,

I will recommend Sambucol for kids. This is really good, my kids have been taking them since May & it really proven to be good. The kids need to take the supplement on long run to see the effect.

My twins, were about 2.5 year old & they just started school in Jan. They have been coughing/ running nose/flu all these while. Everyday when they go to school, probably in air con room, they will have running nose & they only attend schools like 2 or 3 days a week. Even before that, they will have cough & flu occasionally. Worse cases, they have bronchitis, due to the excessive phlegm & fever.

Everytime we have to cancel our planned program & my kids are getting thinner. After taking Sambucol in May, my kids doesnt have running nose or coughs anymore (or I should say, not all the time).. even when they do, it is time when they really get very sick. Other than that I realised it really helped to build up their immune system. And they started to gain weight & I am really happy to see them being strong & healthy.

I have recommended it to many mummies & they tried. It worked too. However, I will usually advise the mummies to check with their usual PD or GP before giving it to their kids. it might not be suitable for all kids.

Here are more information about Sambucol:

        http://www.sambucolusa.com/scientifically-developed.htm

You can get them from Vitakids in Singapore too, but its more expensive. The packaging is different too. Singapore is selling for about $24.50 (for non-member, member get 10% discount). Usually I ordered in a dozen online which is cheaper too.

        Hope this helps!!

Many parents here mention it with praise. But personally I've never tried it. For me, it's just that Songshan is so effective, I never found the reason to spend more. 🙂

For my kids, it’s cod liver oil and Manuka honey.

No need to get those with super high UMF, UMF 10 is enough.

A persistent cough especially those that happens mainly at night or early morning are usually allergy cough. Check your home environment, remove soft toys and excessive pillows from the bed as these are hosts of dust mites, the main culprit of respiratory allergies.

I don’t really restrict my kids’ diet unless they are not well. If they are well, citrusy fruits, yakult, cold stuff, I am ok. In fact, DS favourite breakfast is chilled yoghurt. Their preferred choice of beverage is milk and honey and well, coke.

My kids are on Childlife GNC cod liver oil & it’s really good too.

You may have already read it elsewhere, even here at KSP but it's best to have a reminder nonetheless:

Do NOT give honey to a child below 1-2 years of age. This age reference is only a guide though so adjust accordingly to what you think your child can take or cannot take. Here's a link if you missed the discussion back then: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/dangers-babies-taking-honey

I brought my gal to Yu Guo TCM. She told me that my gal is having allergy cough…sensitive respiratory system, that’s y take so long to recover. She asked me to avoid egg white, biscuit, cold stuff, watermelon and bananas. Then my gal had Tui Na. The doc who gives tui na had white powder rubbed on my gal’s body, said its chinese herbs…for the healing purposes. Then use a black color scrape to kua sa on my gal’s back…There are alot of bbs and small little children in that clinic. Hopefully my gal can recover soon from this massage - physiotherapy treatment. I was recommended to go TCM cos my niece who used to have asthma. Had been gg to Yu Ren Sheng for TCM treatment and now she is fully recovered. Her western doc had declared that she no longer has asthma…

Any other mummies has feedback to share on Yu Guo TCM or TCM in general? To me I think TCM is considered as a supplement. Cos doc said not compulsory to go Tui Na but recommended to have Tui Na as frequent as possible like everyday esp if one is sick…She said it is for bao jian wor… Would like to hear your views. She even said can combine western medicine with TCM treatment.

Maybe can try Tussils cough drops? Can get from any pharmacy (Guardian/ Watson). Whenever someone in the family is down with cough, we take Tussils. Somehow it seems to work.

Also, avoid air-conditioned environment as much as possible since the dry air may irritate our throats further.

My son has this problem since he was a baby.Recently I found a miracle cure. You can call it a miracle water.

I found it in youtube. Here is the link

                        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbYIbqhnXB4

(unfortunate it is in Japanese, briefly summarise it is that in Mexico a person named Jesus Chahin discovered this miracle water and drinking it 2 to 3 liters daily his backache dissappeared.Scientist research and found out it consists active hydrogen, once the water is taken out from the site, its oxidation reduction potential will disappear with time. Thus people queue up at site and drink the miracle water at the site and it's help to cure many other diseases...Active Hydrogen can reach every cell to remove Free radical.)

This Miracle Water is called \"IZUMIO\",you can find out more from this site at http://luteinizumio.blogspot.com/

You can also contact 98393866 to get more information and maybe a CD with Chinese translation on this Miracle Water.
