Child abduction at AMK Hub

Ditto. was telling DS this afternoon that in the future, we will go and buy food together in foodcourts/fastfood restaurant, and he innocently asked me, 'then what happens if someone takes our table?' wasted no time in assuring him that i'll very gladly lose a table as long as i can be sure that my child is safe!

OMG. I think I cannot sleep tonight after reading about this case. I grew up hearing about Adrian Lim's case and the two boys. In fact, my mom used to use stories like these to frighten me, so that I wouldn't run off without her knowledge. Her good intention has left me being very paranoid about my kid's safety, esp with this case in AMK Hub.


Just when I was a bit more settled and thinking about bringing my kid to HK disneyland, I saw someone posting Shin Min's news on Facebook. I really wonder if I will ever have the courage to bring my kid for holiday.

same here. last year we were merrily planning for a holiday to HK Disneyland when the kidnapping news started to surface, so DH got cold feet and insisted that we drop the idea. then just 2 weeks ago i proposed a short trip to KL to check out one of their new attractions, and now we read about the horror stories involving the syndicates there. seems that there is really no safe place to go for kids ...

I guess we not only have to be kiasu, we have to learn to be kiasi, as far as our children's safety is concerned.

What to do? our kids are far too precious for us to take any risk. they are everything to parents. :grphug:

About hongkong, we went hongkong for hoilday few years back. I personally feel the HONGKONG custom officer is VERY ON. When we are at the custom, both going into Hongkong and back to Singapore. When they are chopping the passport of my kids, they asked my kids. "Who is she?" I am standing beside them. When they answered "MOMMY" they chop and let them go.

If I am with my daughter at food court, I will get a seat near stall so I can see her. Of course if hubby is with us, I will sit with her and he will buy the food. With this abduction case happening now, I will get her to go to same toilet cubicle with me from now.

After read the first link raysusan gave,it saws few attempts happened already from Feb.seriously we have to be careful until police catch them.unbelievable incidents.we have to proactive if we see any suspicious people we have to alert the security.

When my dd almost lost i shout her name many times, i thought other people bring to me.but the lady never brought to me.my dh only found cos he never shout.that time i had many qns why the lady never bring my dd to near the lift lobby.i run many times up and down, looked two sides of the building cos one side car park another side road.why my girl didn’t come to me?.this stupid mummy didn’t make police report.
