Those claiming 23/24 may only be ~18.

Those claiming 40s maybe must add ~5years.

When I tried hiring 2 yrs ago, there was this 40yo that look really really old. Even SG agent in the end rather tell me to wait for new bio as she also dun trust the indo agent. We did a video conf & they think that maid was >50.
In the end, I hired another also claim 40yo, when here she still insisted she’s 40yo still but thru our chit-chats, I could calculate & conclude that she’s at least 45yo.

If maid turns out to be younger than stated on her bio data like 17 instead of 25, can we sue agency?

I think the agency here depend very much on what is given by their Indo counterpart. The age can also be faked in the passport so not much hope if you wanna sue the agent because I think there are a lot of parties involved.

we are not old in our 40s but most maids are considered as old when they are in late 20s or 30s.Considered old by whom? To me late 20s and 30s is the ideal age range. I'm sure you are aware that many of maids aged 23, 24 and thereabouts (probably 90%) are teenagers. I guess some people prefer to hire teenage maids but not me. I can guess what their main reason is, based on comments I have heard from other employers.

I understand the maximum age is 50 for maids and MOM does not approve fresh maids at 49. As far as I know, 50 is not the maximum age for maids working here. It's only the maximum for those applying to come here.

I meant fresh maids when I said max age is 50 and MOM does nt approve fresh maids at 49, What is the main reason some employers prefer teenagers? Ive not been keeping up with this forum for a while so I do nt know what others have posted regarding teenage maids and Im nt gonna go back 700 pages.... Care to share?

Think u have to enquire with a few agents, no agent is really reliable n honest. Not all transfer maids are problematic cos there are cases of maids that were not matched to the right homes… Only way is to talk to the previous employer. I notice during the last few months that there are more biodatas frm the phillippines and alot more of the applicants are ex HK or Taiwan, hv also noticed alot more applicants in their mid or late 30s.

Mine is 48 and she came to spore cos she heard spore pays a higher salary. Anyway Im her third employer and have no choice but to give her back to the agent cos she really cant make it as a maid and her family does not think she should take an overseas job. Problem now is she refuses to go home and the agent is not going to transfer her.

                  Curious ....
U Mean she's still under your \"employment\" in Name?
And the Agent is Holding your \" Advance = Loan\" Money?
And U R not able to get another Maid While Waiting for the Transfer?

And U R Paying for the Maid Levy, Accommodation, etc ....
While the Agent Dun Want Transfer, Maid Dun Want Go Home?
Stalemate Situation, Waiting to See Who Give up first?

                  Just Wonder,
How Long Can a Maid Remain in Transfer Situation?
Or as long as the Maid Levy is Paid, Can Stay Till WP Expired? :?

The agent cannot hold the maid forever. The agent usually has a deadline for transferring the maid (usually a few weeks if I’m not mistaken). Is this not in your contract with the agent?

Sorry, i didnt complete my post, was distracted this morning... actually the maid is still under my employ and with me not with agent. The agent knew about my maids condition and tansfered her to my home to complete her loan .... My agent recently recommended another maid to replace my current but wants me to send the maid back and does not want to transfer her cos he knows she cnt make it in another home. My maid refuses to go back and now the agent wants to throw all responsibility to me.
