S'poreans to get priority for P1 places during balloting

Hmmm.....I think the most likely action plan for PR is to convert to citizen. Most of my PR friends have converted to citizen. It is not such an easy decision to just uproot and leave esp after you have established yourself in the country. Those who wanted to leave would have thought of leaving in the first place, not because of this.
some PRs will just quit singapore, it will be singapore's loss in the long term, esp those we need the most, in exchange for some Pri One places for citizens
:siam: :siam:

Also, if you look at statistic, the impact may not be that great since not a lot of school have balloting at Phase 2B. Even popular school like Nanyang, Rosyth and Henry Park does not have balloting every year. The policy sounds good. As for the impact, can only be seen after this year registration to see how previously there was ballotting at phase 2B and now, no ballotting after eliminating PR. -

But it is no longer so easy to convert from PR to SG Citizen. SG Govt has promised to tighten their selection critieria and i did hear a lot got rejected.

Sorry, but i also believe this is GREAT NEWS for SG Citizens! :rahrah: -
puff:
Those worse hit by this news will be PR who have already shift to 1 km of the popular sch n have done 40hrs of PV. ...with the new changes they may not even stand a chance
No, the worst hit are those who shifted but did not do any PV at all. These people then really no chance if you're talking about any school remotely popular.
Erm, does that mean that the properties in the proximity of popular schools will drop eventually ..... thus inevitably dampening the whole property market as part of the trickle-down effect? -
Wow good news for me! M staying within 1 km. ( in fact the school is just downstairs, less than 3 min walk. )
But what if let say left 30 places at the last phase but there are 35 SC which are all staying < 1 km?
All will get in?
Ballot among the 35 SC?
Or go by who stay nearest get in first?

No more PR vying for priority/connection vacancies?
E.g. PV, GRL, Church, Clan⦠-

Maybe more SC will move to these hot properties instead of PR.puff:
