      Daddy 😧
No more PR vying for priority/connection vacancies?

      E.g. PV, GRL, Church, Clan...
They can still try their luck at P2B. At least they still more chance than P2C SC. But if P2B requires balloting then those PR might lose out 😓

Actually I think the word 'absolute' priority in first paragraph is pretty misleading. At first I thought all singaporeans will get the places first, then followed PRs..regardless of any phase
But there will no balloting required for P1 and P2A. so PRs still have an edge

Of course they will have no control if school, GRL etc do not accept them. But if they are accepted, then this is actually the way that they can get in ahead of citizen!
There is only a small quota for PR in each GRO. So competition via GRL for PR will be tough

I guess the statement could have been phrased more precisely. In any case, it makes sense for siblings to still go to the same schools via Phase 1, wouldn't it? It would be kinda unfeeling to totally block all PR kids from the schools that their older siblings are attending right now. Think of the logistical nightmare of ferrying kids to different schools. Even if it is an 'edge', it will be one which will vanish in 6 years, after the current batch of primary one students graduates. I think we are gracious enough to look at the big picture.

Apologise that I used the wrong word. I didn't mean to outcast the PRs. What I mean that that PRs in P1 and P2A still enjoy the benefit. Which like you have said it still make sense for current siblings to attend the same school.

Cannot force PRs out forcefully…but it’s definitely much better. Didn’t expect Education minister to work on this so soon.

As you know we do hv PRs doing very well at PSLE, say PRs get pushed to "not so popular / known" school…we can start to see a shift in the "top" schools from the traditional ones to the relatively unknown ones

Property prices near current hot schools may plunge since PRs will not be too excited to get within 1km
