There are more dogs than humans in Singapore

See people talking about fts taking away jobs at the expense of locals. Anw, whether these fts are really talented are debatable. Two things are in their favor, namely a degree from a recognised uni plus good communication skills. Our next generation just hve to work hard academically and continue to improve on their communication skills to remain internationally mobile.
To avoid being in an awkward situation when you are in yr forties and fifties which are vulnerable to retrenchment especially in private sector, just avoid these two comittments: 30-yr housing loan and 10 yr car loan. If you are committed to these, sorry you are destined to be a slave for life! -
真是一波末平,一波又起。we r just easily targets for FTs.

Now, we have another case, this time a student from Nanyang Polytechnic.
A polytechnic student's derogatory post about Indians on social networking site Twitter has gone viral and stirred angry reactions from netizens.
In an expletive-laden post, the Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) student known as Shimun Lai wrote on her Facebook and Twitter accounts that Indians need their own form of transport or to be in separate cabins from others.
She also likened them to dogs.
Ms Lai, believed to be a diagnostic radiography student in NYP's School of Health Sciences, has deleted both her Facebook and Twitter accounts. -
The Nanyang Poly case is posted by a Singaporean. She has deleted the post and apologised.
Another case after the Swiss case is by Brian Tan (Director) from Fairmont Hotel. He supported the Swiss's remarks claiming Singaporeans are weak & lazy. Fairmont Hotel was alerted and posted that they do not support Brian's stand and is looking into it.

As more people are cramped into small, limited space, likelihood of conflict rises. Like putting too many fishes into a small aquarium, and fishes will start attacking each other. This is made worse when the people is not from homogeneous background, but from different parts of the world. Cramping all people into close proximity is simply asking for trouble. Looking around at the numerous high-rise housing emerging and one sees the tendency of conflict could only get worse. No wonder politicians are looking into zoologybefore the internet age, all the swearing, cursing, and rantings are in coffee shop and nobody cares

So basically, human beings are not very different from animals, so what's more important than to learn your way through and to survive? Let the fire burn inside us and may we channel that energy into doing something for ourself - to survive, to continue to believe in ourselves, despite the worst words coming from our grandfather about our inferior genes ( and if you believe that to be true, to prove that DNAs do change!

By end of June 2011, Singapore’s population stood at 5.18 million with 3.8 million citizens and 1.4 million non-resident foreigners… While the Singapore Department of Statistics reports overall population figures for Singapore (4.48 million in 2006).
At one time I read that the population target was 6+ million. Flats are smaller. Stress on public transport. Schools cannot cope with numbers. This might be a stupid question… but why do we need 6 million people here on this island that cannot expand in the way American metropolises can?
Just wondering aloud. -
Chenonceau:
Isn't that conflicting despite efforts for parents to have more children? How to accommodate more children when flats are getting smaller? Bigger families have to move into older HDBs cos the older HDBs are bigger.Flats are smaller.
