Officer on duty do not understand your background as you’re a stranger, so you’ll be subjected to detailed questioning. Don’t forget on that busy day, there are lots of anxious parents queuing behind you all come ready with documents, waiting to process their children registration. As a result, repurcussion is that P1 registration officer on duty may ask you to stand aside, go ahead process other children behind you first.

In the end, your child becomes the last to be processed, as yr situation is doubtful / complex. Other kids get in first before you. The chance of your child getting in may be jeopardised, if you’re unable to convince the duty Officer on the spot properly, or call the Principal in to handle your unique situation.

To some it may sound unconvincing, but it's really happening to my case no matter how much I dislike this situation! Can't bring myself to change my address to one which the property doesn't belong to me when I have one myself and staying in it at times. To summarize, what i'm hearing is husband & wife should have SAME address for primary registration and I need to sort that out with my husband. Frankly speaking, it doesn't make much difference in the address we use as they are near to each other... So no significant impact

However, there are couples with different addresses in their NRIC. Having different addresses give them the \"flexibility\" to choose schools which they like. During P1 registration, in the event that a couple has different addresses in their NRIC, the address shown in the husband's NRIC will be taken.

There are people who abuse the system because of the loopholes. Verykiasu2010 was just trying to warn you against resorting to any \"tactics\" used by other parents. If found out, the consequences and impact on the child will be dire.

This is not true, phtthp. Whether your child manages to get into the school has nothing to do with whether you are the first or last applicant.

all eligible applicants in each phase / category will be tallied to see whether need to ballot or not. it is not first come first served ...... else you see parents Q up one week ahead and camp outside school gate :evil: :evil: :evil:

Thanks everyone for the concerns and alerts raised. In my case, I have no fear of kid being disqualified due to abuse of system and misuse of address and this is precisely why I dare to raise the question openly in forum. So apparentally what I’m hearing is couple having 2 different addresses DO post an issue for primary school registration. This I will highlight to my husband tonight and ‘forced’ to change as we have been having different address for many years since marriage and it never is a concern to us till now. Thanks all…
