Does anyone know how long to get Singapore citizenship? Besides the issue of citizenship, I believe many are thinking into renting an address and that will increase the rental fee.

              Hi Zakashi,

It takes at least half a year to obtain SC base on our past experience with SIR.
I conclude that properties around good/Branded schools will see a surge of more genuine Sporean buyers/renters given that it now favour SC more.

I checked with the MOE. They replied me that as long as the child is a Singapore citizen, they will accept it. It is not necessary to have both parent to be SC. I scatched my head.??? We still have to fight with the PR. Most of my friend’s spouse is still a PR and one of them is SC. Even with the "good" news, we still have to fight with the PRs. Don’t forget that they are outnumbered us even one of their spouse is a SC.

This could have happen in earlier years, whereby our govt grants SC to PRs easily. In recent mths, what i heard is that if only 1 parent apply to convert from PR to SC, together with the kids, it is usually rejected. Already heard of 3 rejected cases that applied 6 mths ago.

require BOTH parents converted into SC, then child can become SC ?
