Ms. June Lee at The School of Dance (50 MacPherson Road, near the PIE)is a wonderful ballet teacher! Her classes are well disciplined and children do enjoy the lessons, all the while learning good techniques and rhythm from the start. It is nothing unusual to see the same group from year to year as students seldom drop. She has been the coordinator for the correography for the opening and closing ceremonies at the S'pore Youth Olympics Games, and her older students are usually taking a role in the National Day Parade and other events and competitions.

Jia Jia Tan also teaches at TSOD at the MacPherson Road location (same place as Ms. Lee). Ms. Tan was once a student of Ms. Lee and she is a good teacher as well.

Although the location is not exactly ideal, because of the great teaching, we like to send our girls for Ms. Lee's class.

If you have a chance to start with Ms. Lee, go for it! Take a trial class and you may well be hooked. What I appreciate is that there is a big glass wall at the backside of the studio and generally the big black curtain is open so parents can easily observe the class. It's nice to see the children engaged in the lesson and the class running smoothly with all the kids following along and getting help from the teacher as needed. 🙂

      Hope this can help someone.

Anyone with kids learning from Ms Sharon Liew at Tampines Changkat CC? I wonder if she's good. :nailbite: Don't know if it is too late for my going-to-be 9 years old dd to start learning ballet.

                  Any advices? MTIA.

9 years old is definitely not late, I started much later. xD But she could possibly be the oldest in the class. Just let her go for a trial class.

Is there a likelihood that she’ll start from pre-primary / primary grade?

I think that she might start from Grade 1 onwards but it will depend on the teacher. Maybe it will be wise to let her have a trial and talk to the teacher to see how's her view.

The most important your girl must like it as well.
