      nugget:

Actually I am now expecting my no 3. Yes there is a tendency getting another ASD child again, however the odds are lower. Doc say its abt 5% of getting ASD and 25% of other developmental issue (like ADHD etc).

However its because of our love of my ASD boy and my no 2, we decided to try no 3. Firstly my ASD will have 1 more companion. Secondly, we dont want our no 2 too feel too burden when he grows up, imagine he has a ASD elder brother and aging parents?

If heaven were really to give me another ASD child, I am also willing to take up the challenges as I know what to expect and how to help the child as well.

Nothing will take away the love I have for my children. Motherhood is the most wonderful thing and its really the only time you experience unconditional love.
congrats nugget, and i salute you for the courage.

dh is keen to have #4 but I have not been agreeable. because i wont have the courage to face it if we were to have another special needs child. truth be told, I am scared, so I really really admire your courage.

Don't think we had eipic before. More than a decade back, asd was unheard of. So.... was even more scary and emotionally draining as didn't know what to expect. I had to buy books from amazon.com to read up more and also books on intervention skills - like social skills and aba to help my child. Was also working full-time back then. So it was insane!! Think i was a monster mommy on most days

schweppes is our 倧姐倧 in this community. Imagine the challenges and frustration one decade ago when so many things to support us today were not available then. the feelig must have been very lonely.

          Thanks ImMeeMee πŸ™‚

I am also very scare. No matter what, my risk is still higher than normal population. However I also know I will regret not having my #3.

Anyway, I am also monitoring my #2 (2 years old now) and will be monitoring my #3 as well like a hawk. Hopefully they are okay *cross fingers* Tolong tolong*.

Mine is HF ASD, doc assured me my chances is really low. Just stay happy and positive.

I have friends who have been trying to conceive since I have no 1. Till today they still have no news 😞

I am thankful that I am blessed with 3 kids, even though one of them is HF ASD, but I still love him dearly. Given a chance to choose all over again, I still want my ASD son to be my son. I truly love him dearly..

But I am stopping at 3, cannot afford #4. unless I accident. hahaha.

              Congrats!

Heehee, I also have the same feeling. Given a chance to choose, I will still want my son to be my son. As much as he gave me a lot of headache and frustration, he has also been a blessing. The thing about asd kids is that they are very simple pp. Predictable. Straightforward.

It's been a month now since my son was clinically diagnosis of potential ASD. My self n my hub have put much effort to improve him.

Just one month my son has improved so much that we din expect to be. Last time he only know how to pull my hand near the cookies and say I wan cookies. Now he will just simply ask from me without pulling me to the cookies where it's store. Now he also know what the word WHERE means n ask me where is his toy. He is more interested in human now rather then objects

These he learn from us. Not Leo Megan. At Leo Magen they only teach him one words asking that all. That y I dropped it.

Parents teaching are more effective but if k find good therapist join force will really speed up.
helplessmum, good to see that you have started to put things together and results are showing ...
