To begin with, I don't talk much with her. So she thinks I am acting angel.

It is sickening when she begins every sentence with 'You listen to me...'
So might as well I clam up rather than having to listen to that crap
I got fed up and told hubby it's irritating.

My SIL tells her point blank and gives her no chance to talk...looks like young bullying old, but old one needs such aggressive treatment. I can't do the same thing.

:siao: Sometimes it's scary when ILs sudden turn \"angels\"!? Makes you wonder...

My MIL also going thru this 'angel' phase de.. ...Nowadays she is full of those: \"must forgive and forget\" and \"I am so happy to see you\" pattern.. ..I am getting the chills too.. :scratchhead:

Yup, she did say 'must forgive and forget' too.
She always says 'come up more often ah'...no way and no thanks. I get the creepy feeling when she comes near. Don't like it bcos it's so fake.

"Must forgive and forget" is what they say. Sounds familiar.

Oh yeah, forget...indeed !!! The word is NEVER in her vocabulary.
Like u mentioned, when there is a big fight, she will go back in time to remind you all the stuff happened. Forgive and forget, pure crap...all the Qing dynasty, Ming/Tang dynasty stories all appear. Then when all fails, she will use her triumph card - CRY.

Forgive and forget is to tell the daughter-in-law to forgive what the OLD one has done and forget it. She always has double standard.

Aiyoh, her ace card very powerful...when she becomes unreasonable, those tears will fall. She is so damn free everyday...puffing like chimney instead of cooking nutritious food. Hubby told me the youngest bro of his (gives the most allowance) is very fed up. Then the old man drinking stout like water...both of them don't care about liver or lungs.

They will never reflect on themselves. We are always the ones at fault.
If don't eat well, drink/smoke like nobody's biz, what happens if they kena liver, lungs or whatever sickness ? They just don't think. Advise them to cut down is like killing them. Their mentality is 'give me money but controlling'.
