Just heard from 2 of my students. One claimed that the school principal announced that one of the P1 boy was abducted while another also claimed something similar happened in his school and the police was there. Wonder how true these are and if so, why nothing from the Police?

Which school are your students from? I am sure its not difficult to confirm if the principal actually make such announcement.

I’ve police knocking on my door since early this year and also saw police patrolling somewhere around my area sitting at those stone chairs during the day time. When they knocked on my door and asked was there anything that I found usual? I later asked them has something happened in my area? They answered nothing happened.

So is it that everywhere in Singapore they are conducting some check, I wonder? They also knocked on the neighbours living in my block.

totally agreed ! Never leave it to chances ! It is still our responsibility to ensure our children live in a safe environment.

whether hoax or not, at least it created an awareness that such scenario may happen and hope everyone wiii be on guard at all times. Only worry is people tend to be forgetful and maybe a few weeks or months down the road, it's back to old bad habits again... :xedfingers:

P6, boy, and still need to be fetched by parents..? 😓

I'm not sure whether this is a good sign for the country in the long term..

My friend's kid, P1, boy, takes bus on his own to school. His parent just bring him to the bus stop.

Parent's worries are valid.. but.. at what stage will then be reasonable for them to be allowed to be independent?

All the fuzz about abductions etc.. is it someone trying to create unrest for the ruling party for letting in too much FTs..?

                        Flowermonaster:
Told my P6 DS about the adbuction cases in S'pore. He usually value his independent but now he is willing for me to fetch him home from school. That day told him to wait for me at school gate, all his classmates gone home but I still didn't c him. Angry that he always take his own sweet time, I smsed him & then realized he was standing 100m away from the school gate. I didnt c him because some trees blocked him from my view. I was quite unhappy initially for having to wait so long but later realize that what he did was right. Why didn't I think of that? I really failed as an adult & a mother without Considering his safety. 😓 what if he really listen to me and while waiting for me at the school gate, someone grab him & go? :nailbite: OMG! I cannot imagine what I will do! 😢
I am now very glad that he knows how to protect himself.
