for next change of rules, suggest MOE tighten up loop holes:-

      a) fine tune definition on the word, \"absolute Priority\".

it should truly reflect \"absolute priority for All pure SC - throughout the Entire P1 Registration process\", NOT just some
miserable \"absolute priority of SC over PR - within each phase\" only.

ie. Phase 1 to 2C reserved solely to admit pure SC kids.

by right, this word \"absolute\" should not be used loosely.

Then create a new phase called \"2D\" - admit next round of impure SC and PR kids, fill up remaining vacancies (if any).

      definition:-
impure SC kids - are those with only one PR parent converted to SC, not both.
PR kids - are those with two PR parents.

      http://forum.channelnewsasia.com/showthread.php?60909-Tan-Jee-Say-says-that-MOE-not-telling-the-whole-truth-about-P1-priority-DUN-BE-DAFT

      b) for popular, branded schools - whole family (Father, Mother and child) to convert to SC.

Abolish \"half PR, half SC\" parents to give their PR child SC status so easily.
Right now, this group of impure SC come in readily compete direct head on with us, pure SC parents. There are many PRs even if one of the spouse is SC. This is not absolute priority given to us, pure SC.

Cannot wrap my head around what I am reading here. Are we becoming so prejudiced.
Wanna go by degree of purity? Were your ancestors here when Raffles landed? Were they here during the war?

why would SG government change rule such that the other parent non SG got to go home ? :?

why ? decision makers some time make rules high up in the elephant-task-made office building, white in colour, cannot see the implication, cannot think of family unit

have a personal friend, family was split because of 9 Aug 1965 and never even given PR though born and bred in SG ...... so happened during the day 9 Aug 1965 some members of family were at separate end of Causeway... and did they give advanced notice that 9 Aug 1965 going to take place ?

              friendship:
loop holes still have hor especially the earlier phase. It is up to the principal.

NYPS is a sch set up of group of rich chinese businessman. People super rich and have connections with the NYPS stake holder, will get priority too. but nevertheless, the staff involve will close one eye, because this case is only involve 2-3 kids.
u are right... look at the highlighted below under P2A1 but not for any ordinary people of course ....

              Phase 2A1
For a child whose parent is a former student of the school and who has joined the alumni association as a member; or whose parent is a member of the School Advisory/Management Committee.

It seems As long as one is on the right side of the criteria all goes....

What if both parent SC but one of the grand parent is a foreigner.
What about single parent case ?
How to distinguish between converted SC and born and brought up in Singapore SC and born in singapore but brought up else but now back in Singapore SC? Surely they are all different.

Sanity can get lost in this madness...

Might as well repeat the mistakes of defining the Aryan race... That will be such a tragedy in a country that is multi-racial.
