      Melodies:
If your girl is Singaporean, then the chance is very high this year with new rules for absolute priority for Singapore over PRs.

      Good Luck!

      Hi both

Tq for you advice. The other Sch within 1-2km are all boy's schools, tough luck! St marg n RV are both slightly out of 2km. yikes looks like I have to pray really hard that my girl will get into SCGS through Phase 2c!

Yes Melodies I was v happy when I read the news about SC having absolute priority over PRs. I believe there are many PRs living within 1 km from SCGS but who knows?? In any case I have done my best by moving to within 1 km!

I'm very positive about your chance to get in. Last year, there is no balloting and all applicants who stay within 1km were managed to get in n I believed many of them are PR.

With new rules for absolute priority for SC over PRs, you stand a better chance than last year.

        Good luck!

Hi All, need yr opinions. Am happy with the new ruling as both schools I am hoping to get my DS into are btw 1-2km. Am Comtemplating to enrol him in either ACS primary or SJI… May I know which school will I stand a better chance as both schools are approximately away 1.2km away from my place. Thanks in advance.

based on history, you will stand a better chance in SJIJ. But if you actually prefer ACS, then try go for ACS...

ACS Barker primary had balloting last 2/3 yrs for Phase 2B/2C - under 1km.

We only had an average of 20-25 vacancies, for Phase 2B & 2C.

                Hi hi,

Could any parent share your insight? We live nearby ACS primary and would like to send DS (born 2010) there. Is it true that the school doesn’t take PV, and the only way to increase our chance is to join the church? Many thanks in advance!!!

ACS does not have PV as they don't encourage. The only way to go into phase 2B is church. Also not easy as well.

and is advisable to live within 1 km (unless Moe changes the distance priority to 0.5km in the future).

                        Thanks for the reply, LOLMum.

Wow! If 0.5km then not so many addresses would qualify…
