      LOLMum,

May I ask where do you place your rice bin?

This happened to me when I placed mine on my kitchen counter. I threw the whole bin of rice away when I discovered the mites.

After that, I placed my rice bin in the pantry cupboard and make sure that I place a couple of dried chillies in the bin(I got this tip from the household tips thread). After that, no more problem.
      Hi,

I put mine in the kitchen cupboard. Will try chilli. Is that the dried chilli or just ordinary chili (those for cutting)?

I am just afraid they might be around laying eggs. :faint:

My mum taught me to put garlic (unpeeled) into the rice bin with the rice. No problems with weevils also.

Dried red ones, not the fresh ones, were recommended in the thread.

I use airtight containers. Seem to stop them from appearing in my rice…

recently I also have this prob....ants everywhere....small ones, brown ones that bite, black ones like those from grass....

tried poison but only seemed to kill small groups.

                *SIGH*
not sure if anyone mention it

use rubber band on table leg or any food bottle, the smell from the rubber will prevent ant from coming

Try the Golden Roster Brand cockroach and ant poison available from Fairprice. It should work.

Any idea where do fruit flies (small like flies) breed?

Occassionally, when we forget to dispose the rubbish we collect at the sink, they will appear…maybe 3~4. Donch know where they come from coz I live on high fllr.

How about the tiny flies in the toilet, What are they called? Where to get rid of them? I have sealed my toilet window to prevent lizards from coming in and live on a high floor, am puzzled as to where they come from and I would really like to get rid of them.

If u r able to keep your washroom dry most of the time, they usually cannot breed. Think they breed around the trap area, esp if alot of hair gets caught on it...or corners where water tends to collect at.

How about flushing the floor with diluted bleach every 3~4 days?
