        Hi

Re PTM with the teachers, what happens if parents have to work full day on Saturdays and it's not possible to take leave? Can we arrange for a separate day to meet? or do we have to do it over the phone?

        Hi oldmummy,
You can give a call or drop an email to inform the FT, request him/ her to help to inform all subject teachers to contact you if they have any issue with your child.

So far, in my case, the teachers are very helpful and pro-active. They are more ganchiong than me.

Yes, oldmummy, juz drop an email to her FT
to arrange for a date and time if u wanna to meet her/him to discuss on something.
most emails are replied within the same day or the next day.....

Oh yes, this was how it was conducted when I attended PTM for Y1/2010. But it was different last year. It was 1-to-1 and you have to queue to see each subject teacher.
More privacy πŸ˜„ But we were only given a few minutes with each teacher and there was a student besides as a time-keeper.
So it was diff last yr, no more all crowding ard the teachers, haha.....
i wasnt aware of the change as i did not attend the PTM in yr 2.
oh....still need a student besides as a time-keeper....so must shoot all questions fast .... πŸ˜‰

              Yo, Augmum,

Finally I asked because Augmum is like the ambassador of this thread. So when Augmum asks, have to *salute* and YES MADAM! hahaha...

Yes, likely to attend PTM as I have some doubts to clear regarding Y3 subject enrichment. Other than that, no news is good news.

Haha...listen to P's words, i.e. washes own dishes. Now must iron own school U to start develop enduring skills (from home). πŸ™‚

U mean the streaming of them to the enrichment classes ?
In fact, i wish she isnt in that enrichment class.....
she kinda of regret din appeal to be transferred to other classes ( she actually asked me whether to appeal or not)
at the end of last yr when the streaming results were first out.

Oh yes, agree.....no news is good news.... πŸ˜‚

DHS does not participate in the Joint admission exercise.
I think taking in of O level students is case by case basis.
If u are keen, u can refer to DHS link here to contact the sch for more info.

What is this enrichment class? Is it for better students to do more advanced material in the subject they were selected for? How many of such enrichment classes can a student take?

                        Hi jtoh,

At end of Y2, students choose their subj-combo option and at the same time, they can opt for subject/s to go for enrichment in Y3 and 4. It can be Math enrichment, Hist enrichment or Geog enrichment etc. I do not know how many such classes can a student take.

Students selected for specific subj will be grouped together for enriched and/or accelerated learning (in-class enrichment) and selection is merit-based. There are 30+ students in each of the two such subject classes that I know πŸ˜„ , that's top 10% for each subject.
