S'poreans to get priority for P1 places during balloting

These are not stories. In fact, I used to work for a company like that. He hires own \"kind\" to fill up exec positions with housing benefits when there are lots of SC vying the same job. For the more manual jobs, he favours people across the causeway cos they are cheaper. He even walks around the office commenting why does he feel he is working back in his own country. OK, this is :offtopic:
Not only that. There have been stories about foreigner in some key position discriminating against SC and choosing their own \"kind\" for vacancies.Karl12:
But seems that this trying to get low cost, younger foreign executive trend is affecting even small company. The reasons for small company is obvious - cost cutting!
What has to govt do to prevent such things from happening? What can they do? -

I didn't say there's a need (I mentioned \"IF\"). Actually I'm quite neutral on this.. with regards to P1 admission. Maybe there is really no need to.. or, at this moment.. no need to.. (Not that many \"new SC\" vying for places etc..)
why need to group the SC kids into 2?
just let all the new citizens do the NS before granted citizenship. Perhaps give them some discount, 1 year or 1.5 yr NS?
However, If anyone were to clamor for additional priority against some new citizens (which, is understandable.. to some extend), NS is a good criteria to use (for the parent, naturally). Just like alumni case.. it's the parent who are alumni, but the kid who got priority.
As for how the NS is served.. It must be in the same capacity as any male citizen.
No such thing as discount.. you don't discount on contribution to national defense. It must be in a \"significant\" way.. Mindef have a very good press release on this.. I'm too lazy to dig it out..
And no.. being a child doctor does not qualify as acceptable \"National Service\".. that is BS, ridiculous crap.. (Not responding to your post, juz a comment)
