hi, you can try out this preschool called stamford little geniuses in bugis (http://www.stamford.edu.sg/genius). they are giving out free for the 1st month for new-comers.Original Title: After School Care
Hi,
My elder son at age of 5 this year currently is attending K1 level at St Paul Church Kindergarten for 3 hour session from Monday to Friday excluding Public Holidays. I think it's not enough and I am exploring if After School Care centre will be feasible for him as I hope he can get to learn and explore more things.
Any opinion?
my girl is studying there right now and its not bad. their teachers are very nice and caring. since its free, might as well try it out and see whether its suitable for your kid

hi guys i am new to this forum. I am considering which playgroup to enrol my son into when he turns 2.5yr old next Jan. I have shortlisted the following kindy :
1) St Paul Church kindy
2) Catholic Church kindy
3) Jenius kindergarten
They are all located in Kovan.
Does anyone have any kids in any of the school who can share with me your feedback?
I went to MOE website and found an excel listing containing profile of all kindergartens approved by MOE and saw that St Paul Church kindy does not have a check on \"Principal Qualification\" and \"Centre Qualifications - Centres with at least 75% teachers having met the 2013 requirements\". Is this something I should be concerned about? Thanks

-
any feedback on this sch?
:thankyou: -
hi my son is 2.5 years old and just started N1 class in St Paul’s Church Kindy this Jan. He is enjoying his school now (unlike the previous school where he cried for the whole term). In fact every morning he looks forward to taking school bus to school.I find the school very organised and teachers very warm, experienced and dedicated. The first week is orientation where only N1 and N2 goes to school for shorter time (2 hours instead of normal 3) accompanied by parents for only the first 3 days. My son initially was very clingy to me for first 3 days but by the 8th lesson he started getting used to idea of going to school. The school has indoor and outdoor playgrounds and they have separate toilets for boys and girls. They have assembly halls, music rooms, and separate classrooms for Chinese and Tamil classes. It operates like a mini primary school where children are asked to wear school uniform and shoes (not allowed to remove shoes) and attend assembly before class and before dismissal. After attending the first 3 days of school with my son, my confidence in the school increased. My son’s teacher seem very experienced in handling children -very calm and assuring whenever kids cried. I noticed the children didnt cry for long as they often get distracted by different activities.(unlike my son’s previous school where many children could cry for hours altogether) They have indoor play time, eating time, reading time, playground time, etc.The principal looked young but spoke very confidentally and appeared experienced and committed. My husband used to be skeptical as he was against my son taking school bus to school by himself. He was proposing nearby schools instead. But now, after he had seen how much my son enjoyed his school he told me we have made the right choice. 2 changes i noticed about my son was that he didnt seem as shy as before and he recently came home singing a chinese song.

Hi tks for replying. I've PM u. -
Is it easy to get into St Paul’s church kindy? Is there a waitlist or just register 1 yr before the child goes?

Hi! I am thinking of putting my gal at st paul kindy next year.
However I am worried that she’s too young to start N1 cos she is a year end baby.
How independent do they need to be befOre going N1?
Self feeding? Toilet trained?
Appreciate any advice. Thanks! -
Totally agreed with daffytlh. The teachers are very good in assuring the kids. Both my daughter (jan 08) and son (dec 09) in N2 and N1. They will be given biscuits, rolls and porridge (fri) for breakfast. The child has to wear diaper even toilet-trained during first week of class.

They are doing internal reg now, so think you can start to call up or visit them starting from next week for 2013 class.
