you should be able to find out Total no. of Parent Volunteers in Admiralty primary this year, from your Head of PV discreetly.

The only unknown figure comes from Grassroot leaders activity side - figures only released to school nearer the time before 2B actual registration day.
Do you know if other school will tell you the number of SC and PR in their PV list so as to better gauge ?

This is the first year MOE will be implementing priority for SC, so nobody knows. We shall know come July when parents feedback to us.

Thanks qms 🙂 but can't be so optimistic now, since it's also stated in the letter, this year balloting is 'possibly likely'.

It's a good progress, nevertheless. You have already done what you could for your child. Just leave the rest till the day comes.

on website, schools won't post openly about number of SC vs PR, as info is sensitive.

however on actual registration day itself, the child's nationality (SC or PR) is posted on a Big white board, with all detailed info. Everyone can see, can count Total number of SC / PR applicants, balloting in that phase.

After registration day, if you call up or write in, some schools may willingly divulge this info to you, some do not.

for this year, if you're a SC, your child is given priority to enter before PR, don't worry about PRs. Thus, you can ask your Head of PV discreetly for Total number of SC kids.

Only not sure whether the school willing to reveal that to you only.... 😞

knowing number of PV SC kids alone not good enough.

you need to know Total SC (PV + GRC leader) kids. Only 2B registration day then you’ll know.

Reading from the thread ‘P1 registration exercise for 2013 intake’, got to know that kid’s kintergarden will distribute some P1 registration materials (not sure what’s inside) for parent to read. So just wondering normally when will this happen? And any parent have received it from your kid’s kintergarden?

                        To Linda Lim:

                        Hello Linda.

Personally, I am not very pleased that you said Si Ling is a better school than Woodgrove. All schools are good in their own way. Academically, Si Ling did well. I will admit that. But during the 2011 PSLE, Woodgrove did exceptionally well too. For I am a student from the 2011 P6 batch of Woodgrove, I dislike my elementary school to be criticized. I don’t hold any grudge against you so please do not be offended. But anyway, back to the topic, I know that Si Ling’s principal was Mr. Shah and that he was a vice principal of Woodgrove previously. Before he came to Si Ling, Si Ling was a school which offered only 1 end-of-year examination. That’s all. But at that time, Woodgrove already had 4 major examinations, the 2 CAs and SAs. Mr. Shah learnt from Woodgrove that having 4 major examinations would do Si Ling some good. And it did. Si Ling is a good school. But it was actually Woodgrove which indirectly helped Si Ling. And here we are, being known as the more horrible school as compared to Si Ling (not that Si Ling is horrible). And to other parents, I live nearer to Si Ling than Woodgrove. I could have easily gotten into Si Ling but my parents picked Woodgrove instead. Do you know why? It is because they felt that Si Ling had ‘gangsters’ and they feared for my safety. Of course, its not like that now. So, the message is that both schools are equally good and that every single person has his or her own will to pick a school, and not go by what others say is a good or bad school. Also, I would very much appreciate if the polls for good and bad schools are being removed.

Thanks you and please note that I am not criticizing ANY school here. I’m only stating my humble opinions.
