my 7 yr old girl going for grade 1 exam next april too..
She did not score too well for the last exam only 61... As they were tested in a group of 4 so I told her for the next exam concentrate on her own dance steps, do not bother what other girl is doing which is always the case...

Considering that DD doesn't practise except during the lessons, she did pretty well (Honours) for her last exam. We checked the \"score sheet\" and realised that she didn't do as well for the creativity segment, thus causing her to fall slightly short of the next grade. (What grade is just above Honours?) -
all.in.one:
Hi all.in.one,Mums to Gals,
Ballet at 3yo seems a bit too young.
Personally, I think 4+ to 5yo better as they are more aware of
what they really like, so your money will be well spent.
The leotard set itself already costs $85 and if you take up
ballet at reputed centres, the fees are almost double compared
to community centres.
My girl started to ask to go for ballet when she was 4yo.
I managed to only sign her up at 5yo at our community centre
where the min. entry age is 5yo.
And since then, almost 3 years now, she has not missed a lesson.
Thanks for the info.
Considering ballet cos my N1 really likes to dance. Ever since she watched the \"Barbie in 12 Dancing Princesses\", she'll start to dance whenever she hears music
She has not attended any classes at all, thought can start her on something she's interested in. Hee, I understand your point. cos I myself took up ballet at 5yo, but quit in less than a year

Iβm really a 100% SAHM.
I never leave my 20mth old son with maid at home. Either my hubby or myself, one of us gotta be at home. At times I feel quite bored at home, other then surfing, reading, visting neighbour, marketing etc. Currently abt 6 mths pregnant, my time spent is interacting with baby and resting besides attending part-time masters course. Iβve taken 1.5yrs of no pay leave and will be extending for another year.
If u ask me to bring baby out with maid, well Iβm really not used to it. I dont enjoy it at all, therefore rather stay at homeβ¦My hp & pc are tools that let me connect with the outside world.
Wellβ¦I hope I can tahan the super long leave. -
Hi KopiYing,
Are you a teacher? Hee, enjoy spending time with your ds now, when no2 arrives, you won't have the time to be bored
-
just this morning, i enjoyed strolling with ds2 (who woke up very early and together we brought ds1 to school) to macdonalds for breakfast as everyone else zoomed past us in the morning peak rushβ¦

:stupid:
I also wan!!! Sigh.... I hate working when pregnant.
jedamum, u noe, DD is quite envious of your DS1. She also wants to be picked up from sch by Daddy or Mommy and not have to go to BASC. (She's also sick of my mom's cooking.) -
schellen:
ya. as my dh works very nearby, he usually meet me for lunch and we go fetch ds1 together.

my nephew also doesn't like to go to BASC. he will plead for my mum to go and stay with my sis so that he can stay at home.
your 3 mths leave coming up. your dd1 will be overjoy.

DD1 overjoyed or not, still dunno cos I haven't been a SAHM for a while now so she might've forgotten how it was like when Mommy was at home 24/7. Anyway, if she dislikes my cooking, she can always go back to my mom.
