      Hi Caroline,

Yr DD did not participate in any of the CCA???

ISo sad, i was hoping that my DD can take up string ensemble but it clashes with her GEP IT enrichment.

It is a must for P4 to take up CCA?

      😞

        Hi Herbie,

Welcome to RGPS! πŸ˜„ Yes, it's compulsory to take up CCA. Count yourself lucky. In my dd's time, they had house practice as well, so they stayed back FOUR times a week for GEP classes plus CCA plus House Practice.

Wow! $10 more per day... I should train my DD to take the bus and train instead. Cos she may need to take the CCA bus at least 3 times a week.

My DD is going to RPGS for her P4 under the GEP programme if her application is being approved by MOE.

                  Hi Herbie,

String ensemble CCA practices 2 times a week. Your dd can attend 1 of the days and the other day attend after GEP IT enrichment.

                    Hi Dharma

But the CCA form indicates that there is only 1 day for string ensemble which is on thurs from 2 to 5pm.

I have another question, there is a Violin under Performing Arts category which include Ballet, Choir, Chinese Dance etc which is on Tues 2.30 - 3.30pm/3.30 - 4.30pm/ thurs 2.30 - 3.30pm/ 3.30 - 4.00pm.

It is a violin enrichment course or is just another ensemble.

                    Do you hv any idea?

                    Tx

                      Hi Herbie,

Normally juniors will join Violin CCA and they’ll be guided and coached under an external trainer. Once they are ready, they’ll be roped into String Ensemble. If your child has violin background, she may be allowed to join the strings ensemble.

The normal trainings may be once a week but next year because of SYF, the training sessions may be twice or thrice weekly. Most of the practice sessions can last about 3~4 hrs.

Anyway we have decided not to sign her up. That's simply too much hassle! The letter has to be returned by today.

When come to her P3 AM seesion, the HCL lessons are conducted after the normal school hour. By then I don't mind letting her attend if she can make the cut because there will school bus service available at 4pm.
Oh dear, I dunno why my daughter's HCL letter suddenly appeared in her bag this morning and my husband signed it without consulting me!!
