Agree on dis totally - it serves no good purpose other than to scare d monkeys. Why does everyone think that not revealing her identity means she will not be punished?
Must identity be splashed all over the media for punishment to be meted. I do not think she should be let off without bearing any responsibility for all that has happened. But I do not think there is a need to name and shame.
If d law is strictly applied, she commits no offence n may well get away with it.
Dis brings up another point.
She cld hv been charged for unnatural sexual acts for some of d services she offered,
but since she is female, d provisions do not apply.
Weird law?

Let's teach our kids to safeguard themselves and not even get into situations which are vaguely compromising. As my pastor put it, don't trust your own flesh. Don't think you are strong enough to withstand temptation cos there's when you'll probably end up being tempted. Be like Joseph in the bible and RUN from your boss's gorgeous wife who is trying to start an affair with you!
:goodpost:
The ex-p has already admitted he is wrong and he wants to move on. Pls do not judge him.
The rest who does not want to admit that they are wrong, let the judge deal with them and if they get away with it this time, one day they will still face up to their consequences.
The girl who is being cast into the spotlight if you realise now that what you have done is wrong, repent and seek forgiveness from the ones who love you. They will be the ones to walk this tough time with you. If you do not repent and think that there is nothing wrong, so be it. If you became this because you feel that no one loves you, remember to love yourself first.
As for all of us, it is easy to say as we are not involved. The pain or hurt is not something we can understand or even \"feel\". We are all entitled to our own opinions, that's why we are the \"superior race\"
Be the best for our children and hopefully we can tell our kids that I have done my best as a parent to you. But your future is in your own hands.
As for those chidren who do not have anybody to guide you, do not despair.
You are here for a reason and if your life has not been taken away from you yet, You can still make a Difference (Up to you whether it's for the good or for the bad)

D men don't deserve it? It's dat a typo?
I believe, part of the function of the law, is not to punish, but to provide deterrence.Chenonceau:
Some kindness would become us, no?
Deterrence is a very powerful tool to keep law and order in a society.
Say, You dish out kindness to this woman.. and undermined the effectiveness of deterrence.. as she got away scot free. And \"some\" other young girls, seeing no \"risk\", jumps into the trade, for the $$$$ or watever. A decision they may regret later.
Are you being kind to the other naive young girls?
I say, be kind to the society. Send the right message. give the woman her due punishment. Not for the men (they don't deserve it), but for the good of the young and innocent in the society.
But it is a very heavy price to pay for some thrills with an underaged pros.
I think dis high profile case has sent d msg to d men out there,
n made more aware of dis 'little known' law.
However, it is not complete without sending d right msg to SYTs aspring to enter d trade. -

not only to scare those underage \"monkeys\" but to alert those pimps to make sure their girls are all above 18 so that they don't harm other men and their famlies....

i'm thinking in the line of for every 1 underage caught there may be more out there and the pros trades won't simply stop bcos of this case.... -
KSP:
The problem is that these people, whether the pimp, or the prost, or the customers will always think they will not be caught....

Was stumped for a moment when I read it. But I think limlim meant the men don't deserve the kindness.

a large compliment must go to your DD as well, other than her mother's efforts
We all know that not everyone gets educated the same... different PARENTS... different schools.... different streams... different quality of education.
Do you think this 17 year old had a Mother like me?
.
We also hear of kids from broken families and poor background/education who have come good, and vice versa, ie good parents and background, kids still turn out not so guai.... So, don't take all the credit hor  Kudos to your DS and DD.
My point is your motherly love may not moved ALL kids, such change that this generation has evolved.
so the question could also be - Do you think all mothers have a 17yo like your DD ?
I am also talking to my DS and DD about this situation....slowly and very carefully. Zao buay siam, coz their classmates are talking about this case as well :imanangel: -

Experts in ancient Greek culture say that people back then didn’t see their thoughts as belonging to them. When ancient Greeks had a thought, it occurred to them as a god or goddess giving an order. Apollo was telling them to be brave. Athena was telling them to fall in love.
Now people hear a commercial for sour cream potato chips and rush out to buy, but now they call this free will.
At least the ancient Greeks were being honest.”

I know this generation. DD and I are close and I hear many things. Don't twist my words. I am not trying to take credit for who DD is though I would like to believe that all the years I put in did make a difference. You will tell your wife that nothing she did made a difference to the child?

So, what are parents for?
I am happy to give credit to my child for all the good things, BUT if the child turns out badly, it is unseemly for adults like you and I to point ONLY at this 17 year old, and not at all at the adult men around her who were more than happy to teach her the ways of sex... OR try to understand her family situation, which may know nothing about at present.
